Something wierd is going on when I plug the G25 in. When the AI drive my car, everything is fine, CPU about 50%
FPS 50/60 ..but when I take over the car, CPU jumps to 100% & everthing goes into a slow motion view, AI jump around like iam online...Does the G25 need that much CPU to run rF2 ? ..Also, the keyboard works good to, but this is a SIM, so I would like to use my wheel.

Online is worse, its like iam driving 50mph, when everyone else is running 150mph.

I can run rF1 just fine, no probs.

Is there anything I could do to solve this problem ?

    Thank you.

    Tried 1,2 & 3 in controller config

Still getting the slow motion effect.

Are you sure you changed it in the right place? You must change it in your saved-controller-profile.ini and the plain controller.ini.

    See if that works.

    Yes, both controller files.

Skip updates="1" // Apparently some drivers can't handle a quick FFB update rate, so use this hack to skip the given number of updates (0=full update rate, 1=half, 2=one-third, 3=one-quarter, etc.)

    Still, slow motion effect.

OK try this. Go to your plr file and change this:

Flush Previous Frame="0" to Flush Previous Frame="1"

    Plr file

Flush Previous Frame="1" // Make sure command queue from previous frame is finished (may help prevent stuttering)

    Still, slow motion effect.

    Thank you for the help.

If you have not tried yet try running with hdr mode on that fixed all my problems!

I don't think it's your wheel. What you're actually doing here is switching between simplified AI physics and our normal full-blown physics, and your CPU is struggling. What are your system specs? We are in some cases having some performance problems that results in the 'slow motion' you mention, we are working on it. In the meantime, we would recommend limiting the number of opponents you race against.

Thank you for the update Terence.

Yea, after messing with it awhile, I would say the same thing, my CPU can not handle the new physics.

Luke, I tried running with HDR, Still had the slow motion, but it was bloomy bright tho..hehe

    3.1GHZ Intel Core 2 Duo
    4GB
ATI 3850..Also tried ATI 4670 Still the problem...not really a GPU prob, CPU is where the prob is for me.. your going to need 3 or 4 cores to run this IMO.
    Windows XP 32bit
    G25 Wheel

    Thank you

    HI kingfuzz
I am also having the same issues, I have tried all the fixes and still having high cpu values when AI is activated frame rate increases by 25% and the 2nd cpu core will drop 25%.

    my spec is:
    3.16ghz Intel core 2 duo E8500
    4 gb ram
    nvidia gtx560
    windows 7 64bit
    G25 wheel
    DFI LanParty LT X48-T2

    Hi rev

Maybe sense we have the same problem, we could help each other out ?..I did get the CPU to drop about 5% ..hovers around 95%.. its nothing great, but progress to me..hehe

Turn on the VSync & Windowed mode in config...I left HDR off.

Not sure why it drops with these on..but like I said, its progress.

For now, I just watch the AI race around..hehe

Found another 5% to 10% less CPU.

View #3 ..which is the GT5 view..which is crap IMO..hehe

I always use cockpit view when I am driving sims...but just trying anything & everything at this point.

Soon I will be able to drive..lol..Weird thing is, I also tried turning off.. Flag Rules,Tire wear, Fuel Usage & Mech. failures..but this did nothing for the CPU..Which I was hoping this would give me the basic physics like the AI..but it didnt work.

Seems to me that the AI have the old rF1 physics and we have the new tire model physics "full-blown physics"..

So this means the AI are cheating..hehe

ISI have said that AI use simplified physics.

    Update

Found these two lines in PLR file.

Drive AI Physics="0" // Only works in Dev builds, single player when you toggle to AI "control"
Old Tire Model="0" // Only works in Dev builds, drive with old tire model

Tried turning both on and no change in CPU levels...drove both single and modDev modes..no change.

    Wheres that refund button ?...hehe..j/k

    Beer break

Those lines both say dev builds only, which you don't have. Not surprised they don't work. :)

Just to give you the answer, even though you were joking, refunds can be requested via the purchase tab in the launcher. :)

I just suggest running with less cars on-track, or maybe turning off FFB and seeing if that works... As Terence said you may be using too much CPU.
