Hi all I downloaded all 3 mods + the executable, from http link, and had problems during installation. So I downloaded again the 3 mods, this time with a torrent : same problem for one of them. See below the message seen in "Advanced" tab : rFactor2 Content Inventory @ janv. 13 2012 07:57:19 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Component "MonteCarlo1966 1.0" failed to verify, removed from inventory Component "HistoricOpenWheels 1.0" failed to verify, removed from inventory Mod "1960s World Class Racing 1.0" failed to verify, removed from inventory help !
Almost seems like the download wasn't completely finished. Have you ever had problems downloading other things before?
No, that wasn't a corrupt download. It's fixed and here is my conclusion : Install on D:/rFactor2 --> problems Install on C:/Program files/rFactor2 --> works fine. Hope it will be fixed in the future, because some people have a small SSD as C:/ drive (OS-only disk), and may want to install games on D:/ ....
I installed everything (user data included) on a dedicated "gaming" drive and had no problems whatsoever... Just saying to balance...
I'll call your balance, and raise you this ... When I installed in non-default locations (I changed just the data folder target), it then promptly made the core folder location = the data folder I specified, and the data folder target was changed back to the default (all by itself). So there are some funny situations that causethe installer to wobble, but I'm sure it's an easy fix that will be addressed .
I have rf2 installed on another drive without issue. Perhaps you have UAC (User Account Control) enabled and when you specified the data folder, Windows chose the default data folder for you and the core folder was changed to the location you typed in (since it will be assumed this is your preference).
i had no problems installing rf2 on drive D. he asked for a location twice, and in both times i choĆ³se D:/Programme/rf2. so i have all folders (core, userdate, etc.) under the same folder. works fine.
I found I had 200gig unallocated on one of my hard drives. Hoot. So I formatted it, J:. I made two folders there. One named rF2 beta core, the other rF2 cars and tracks. UAC is off. I also right clicked the rF2 installer and selected 'run as administrator'. I directed the core to my core folder and the data to the cars and tracks folder. Installed without a problem. Installed the .rfmod files no problems. rF2 runs fine. As Bee said, maybe it has something to do with UAC being enabled.
