few more things I remember I did: -Set to run the game (in core folder, rf config, rfactor2dedicated, rfactor2) in compatibility with xp and as administrator. -Include this same programs in firewall exeption. -Uncheck read only on the the rfactor2 folders (in documents and the installation folder). And the last thing I did was to install in C:\\ this for sure helped too! regards!
I get this as well, only in offline and online, the developer mode seems to work fine. What works for me is to keep clicking the icon and eventually it starts. In addition, if this is something we are not supposed to install in a system folder--and what isn't--then that should be clearly marked somewhere. I had thought it was the fact I have dual monitors hooked up, still not sure what it is only that after 2-7 attempts it finally launches. Oddly, when I first installed the game, it started up flawlessly for hours and then, for no reason, would not work until after multiple clicking of the game mode I wanted to start in.
same problem for me. i already uninstalled and re-installed again. In both cases, game would play for a while and then i start getting error messages. program is being installed where recommended and where all my other games get installed, so why should this one be any different?
One last thing I´ve noticed is that when I turn UAC back on the game does not work... For those who don´t know how to disable UAC: Just go to search on start menu and type UAC
Yes this just happened to me. I could launch rf2 up until the point of clicking the red arrow in trying to play the sim. Afterwards, I get the window message that window is unable to launch game (searching for solution) Are there any solutions?
What worked for me was to install Rfactor 2 in c:/Rfactor2, I also installed my settings folder into this same directory and not in my documents. I'm not saying this will work for everyone but it worked for me and may help others.
Had the same problem. solved it because i re-installed it direct to hdd:/rfactor2 and not to hdd:/programme(or programfiles)/rfactor2. so far the game is starting and can race now!!
View attachment 1063 I get this message to but only when I try to load Monte Carlo, the other tracks work fine. I've reinstalled game a couple times now and it don't fix it. Specs: 980X 12GB Ram 2 X GTX480 Crucial M4 256GB
Another thing to check (instead of reinstall) is go under: x\yourrFactor2installdir\Core\ and open the file: data.path write inside that file the right path! example on mine there is: D:\Giochi\rFactor2 also check inside the registry the same path... Have fun
