    Hello,
I can not play the game. I keep receiving the "rfactor2 stopped working - windows is looking for a solution for this problem" message.
I tryed to change between graphics modes...nothing...video drivers ATI (6790) updated.

    anyone had this issue?

Another thing I´ve noticed is that the "configure sim" or config.ini never keep the changes I made.

Hum, i don't know if there is a link, but.... when i try to run the rFactor2.exe in the "Core" folder, i have this message:

"No mod files or installed mods found. Unable to continue. Please download and install at least one mod"

I don't understand... i put the files "RFMOD" in the "Packages" folder, and i installed them with the rFactor2-launcher :/

    help? :p

did you click on the advanced tab in the launcher and check that the data path was right?

sounds like a UAC issue, and windows keeping certain files locked, not sure though.
Do you have UAC enabled? if so try disabling it.

UAC, I agree. If your config is not saved it most definetly has something to do with permission. You can try saving a regular text file (created in Windows) in your data folder. If you can't than it's permissions.

I think the DataPath is "ok":

    C:\Users\MyName\Documents\rFactor 2

    :/

I agree it could be related to permissions... at the advanced tab everithing is fine, mods installed, verified and ok
How is this UAC stuff works? How can I change it?

    thanks!

GO to Control Panel -> User Accounts. On the left you will find User Account Control

Maybe after some time, people will understand to not install programs onto system partition.
Installing on some not system one, you get no problems and your files will be written into game directory instead of profile one.

    An other thing:
when i run the launcher with the option "Solve the problems of compatibility", and when i try to run "rFactor2 - Single Player", a message appears:
    "Failed to launch rFactor2
Ensure that rFactor2.exe is located in Core and this application is in the root of the install directory."

    Thanks :)

    Ok, look what I did:
1 went to my docs and unchecked read only for the rfactor 2 folder
2 copy config.ini to desktop >edit it and save > copy back to overwrite the config.ini on rfactor folder.
3 verified that on the configure sim tab my changes keep in the file > ok the changes are there.
4 launch the game and the game still freeze
5 went back to the configure sim tab and my changes were gone again

    Oh! Yeah! Nice!
    The solution for me:
    -uninstall rFactor2 (which was C:\Program Files\rFactor2)
    -install rFactor2 in a new folder: C:\Games

    thanks :D and good luck
