Hello, I'm getting constant crashes with the game. I tried loading different cars, tracks, envinronment (rain on/off, AI on/off) settings, graphic settings from low - max, HDR on/off, screen resolution (as you can see, windowed here), but still the game is crashing. My system specs are in the profile: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.00.0904) Nvidia drivers v8.17.0012.5896 Crash picture: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/207647/Crash.png It always seems to happen somewhere at the end there, maybe the developer can figure out what is loading at that moment. I wonder if there is also a crash log I can send? I haven't seen any signs of that. Windows gives me: Oh.. this may be the wrong forum. If so please move it
Yes it does, except I don't have any controller options available. This makes my suspect that it has something to do with some DIY HID & Virtual controllers I run for my switchboards and custom gear (homemade). These are either made with Virtual Joystick (still installed) or with a generic USB HID device (my 'newer' variant, but it is now unplugged). update: Disabling the joystick had no effect. Update 2: Seems like something is completely screwed up with the mod manager. I have tried running the game as an administrator, and it said no mods installed. I opened the mod manager, installed, then C:\ was running out of space (damn SSD's, they are too small!) Now I want to move rFactor 2, but the uninstaller doesn't work ("Error running installer")
Some others may have same problem as you and I in another thread. Developer works for me as well. Do you have unkown player, ie start rf2 launcher, launch rf2, then go into PLAYER tab down the bottm, and instead of your own name, it has 'unkown player'? I think mine has 2 issues. But anyway, the crashing one, we obviously can run the game in developer mode so not to do with system specs I don't think, just some other issue.
It seems like rFactor is installing my mods in a virtualstore. I have just ran the mod manager as normal user again, and it says mods are installed (after installing ofcourse), where rFactor certainly says it doesn't. That's why I thought running as an administrator will cure that, because then I have writing permissions to the installation directory of rFactor. I believe Virtualstore is something added for 'old' (like Windows XP historic) apps that think they can modify everything in Program Files, where you really need administrator rights for that. So I find it surprising it's being used, because it's terrible for multi-user support. Even more so, I've had a ton of issues when I saved some of my work files for my Electronic projects clearly in C:/, and then they didn't show up! Aargh, where as my files so I can copy/move/delete them! I have tried setting a custom install data path, but it doesn't seem to do anything with that (is that were rFactor2 itself is looking in?!) So all in all, it still needs a lot of work. I'll manually deinstall these mods (delete them + manifests) and try it as an administrator. Update: nope, even moving the data path back, Update 2: Apparently the installer is now working cooperative, and I have moded it to D:/. I haven't touched the data paths this time only in the installer. I've installed the mods, and now I've got additional racing series popping up. Now it's working.
Same than you, I can't start the game it crashes instantly ! My Windows 7 is just freshly installed ! Need help...

SP and MP will not work for me Dev mode does.... it allows me to login and start the sim, select car, track ect... all mods show up as well. after 30 seconds loading the track it looks like it is going to finally load race monitor but it crashes to desktop. and tells me rfactor 2 has stopped working. View attachment 457 I have done the following to remedy the situation. changed/ used nearly every combination of graphics settings and resolutions. re-installed rfactor 2 beta re-installed nvidia graphics drivers to newest release. pc specs are as follows windows 7 ultimate 32 bit intel core 2 quad @ 2.4 (4 cpus) Nvidia 8800GTX 768MB 4Gigs memory Runs Dev mode in full @ 1920x1080 no frame rate problems so it shouldn't be my sys specs.

I have kind of the opposite problem, off and online work, dev mode crashes to a black screen, and I have to hard reboot?
Some one of those have a Funky characters in his "Name Pc" like "á, ö...etc" if yes, maybe is the cause of the crach, change it and see if work.

I am having the same issues. It will CTD trying to load a track (seems to get roughly 75+% complete then crashes). I have switched series and tried multiple tracks with no luck. I finally got it to work (windows 7 64-bit). I uninstalled it and re-installed it to C:\rFfactor2. I also made sure that my settings were in the same folder (not in my documents). Started it up, ran the mod manager, installed the mods and it finally loaded the tracks. I think the problem had to do with the mod manager. The first time I installed, the only series I could get was all cars and tracks even though the mod manager said I had the others installed (I could see the cars and tracks in the game). This time around all of the series were available to use. Strange...
ı don't have enought capacity my c drive. and ı usually see crash error, pls help me. ı need another reason for this problem. I tried Bala RFS's solution but didn't help me.
I fixed the problem by installing rf2 in another directory 2 more times ! Now the game launches nearly every time, but sometimes I have a runtime error issue... Hope this help. cya

ok. go to rf2, core folder, go to Installs folder, copy SOUND, LOCATIONS, VEHICLES and rFm, go to Your DOCUMENT and paste into the folder rf2 in each folder. My Documents\rFactor2\Installed this workin for Me.. try saludos.
