Modding Character Animations?

Forgive me if this has been answered already--I tried doing a search, but the results were so vast, it's like finding a needle in a haystack. So, I understand that one of the new features of rF2 is animated characters. Will these animations be 'mod-able'? If so, will we have information on how to do so for the Beta? (i.e. number of bones, naming of bones, separate animations as separate files or a range of frames within one file, etc.?)

Hmm. Well, you can certainly add your own animated, skinned, objects to the sim. In fact, if you follow our naming conventions you could replace our track marshals and such with your own.

But yes, we'll provide some info on animation standards to get you all started...

Does The Sims still have a nude mod?

 

What a tough task that would be to get some to do some motion capture

This is one of the new features I personally feel that is way too unnecessary. But if you insist I will include a hooker shaking her hooters back of my truck... (mod).

 

LOL! I was umm, sorta testing out a hooker/stripper mod for GTA IV. So that might not be much of an issue. *Lowers head in shame*

Yes it is very doable now that character animations are available. You could even make couples having sex. Or, swinger party.

 

Slightly more serious note - what about having specific starter animations for the likes of Tex Hopkins - the famous Watkins Glen starter?

Maybe a bit too "realism police" but I like the little touches like that - maybe even team members jumping about to celebrate a win?

On the other hand, I love nice views while I'm racing so +1 for the bikini girls.

I'm just thinking grid girls mainly along with them sponsor ones walking in the garage area. But you gotta love having the options.

 

I think I make a Woodstock mod. You race your way through backroads in Samba van and in the finish line there is 50 000 naked couples having sex.

 

We could see..
Mechanics foot getting run over,
drive off with fuel hose still inserted,
pit lane mechanics & driver accident punch ups,
mechanics chasing pit/grid girls around,
car sabotage attempts,
team owner and race director arguments,
Starlet pit lane bewb flashes, (mianiaks vid)
driver whips off pit lane girls kini as he drives by ;o
the list goes on and on.

Wow...yeah...totally NOT the sort of animations I had in mind when I started this thread But good suggestions nonetheless I was actually more curious about the 'scripted' animations such as: flag marshals, starters, pit crews (if they're going to be animated at all), in-car arms/hands, etc.

Just a fun little thought--since we're going to have the option of showing arms on the driver, a tear-off animation would be interesting for open wheelers

 

100 000 animated characters... That's a good strain test, at the very least. =)

 

Haha that would be cool. Surely the obvious one is Colin Chapman running onto the circuit and throwing his cap up in the air when you win for Lotus!
