You need their new driver, released 6/JAN/2012, or any later driver. http://ts.thrustmaster.com/eng/index.php?pg=view_files&gid=1&fid=2&pid=316&cid=15 This wheel was among those we tested and it took the software out of realtime. The newer driver does not do this. If you use the older driver, rF2 automatically reduces the FFB updates sent to this wheel.
Why does the T500RS benefit from a special treatment ? Does it demonstrate any issues that do not appear with other wheels ?
Special treatment?? Yes it does (or did, before this update) have issues which do not appear on some other wheels. That's why this thread is here. I'm quite shocked I just had to explain that... lol
Apparently I was well inspired to choose this pseudo! In fact, I am more curious to know whether this update allows the T500RS to gain a reponsiveness that is similar to these other wheels that worked fine without any update, or if it still stands behind. Can you communicate on this topic ?
The update simply brings the T500RS level with other tested wheels in terms of FFB updates from the software. Without it you would get less updates from the software (to save the CPU from taking the sim out of realtime) and the FFB might have a less fluid feel.
LOL it was sarcasm not a question. toodaft seemed to want to know curical information that Tom might not have that simply reading the ReadMe file would tell all...that is if toodaft has that wheel or is looking to get it.
as per Thrustmasters Support site - Changes made in new driver version: - Optimization of the latency, refreshing and reactivity of Force Feedback effects for “next-generation” games.
