There are a lot of glues and half answer, but I would like to have some definitive ones:

1) Can we change our nickname whenever we want?
2) Can server force it's users to use real life names?
3) Will there be option to "upgrade" from normal licence to lifetime licence? (or is it considered)

Tim changed his avatar to a submarine launching a torpedo. This is clearly a metaphor for the imminent release of the rFactor 2 Beta. He admitted it was a German WWII U-boat, currently held in Illinois, USA.
I scanned through the U-505 Wikipedia page in order to find any clue about the release date. No evidence found. The U-boat most important dates seem to be unrelated to rFactor 2.

I'll stay alert.

We were told "not this weekend" but that could be deceiving.

 

That is a reasonable proposition which I gladly accept. But speaking as one who has only been exposed to this racing title in the last 3 or 4 weeks, I would say that I only now am beginning to understand the full meaning of the fact it is a beta product being released for further bug testing and development of mods etc.

I came to the ISI forums after reading snippets of information at various other sim and racing websites and arrived amidst the fever of anticipation for the arrival of the 'beta'. In doing so I only read snapshots of various posts and it was easy to get muddled about what is actually going on. I ( amongst others ) have probably formed many wrong or mistaken assumptions due to this.

Anyway having shaken off some of my stupidity I am keen to take part in the beta trial purely because I love the Formula racing of the 60's and was really excited by how good the videos of Monaco and Spa look that were posted recently.

 

Middle of next week. Maybe tuesday at the earliest.

Yeah that's totally understandable. We're going to have mention obviously of the beta at the top of any instructions WE link to, but we can't really control what others do. The refunds will hopefully take care of anyone misled by someone else.

 

Welcome to rFactor bud!! From what I can see there is an unusual amount of Aussies around. Very strange indeed.

I'm excited, but it's a shame that ISI doesn't surprises and release the Beta today.
