I'd say if you're into gaming and can afford it, get a new computer. rF2 will probably run with those specs but on VERY low settings. Is your video card the DDR2 or DDR3 version? There is a huge difference there. DDR3 is pretty darn old and DDR2 is obsolete. ;)

Newegg is a great place to purchase computer parts and also a great place to learn about some of the latest technology out there.

It should run, but it would be up to you to decide if it runs well enough for you to keep it or request a refund, as it depends on your own patience, etc. :)

Try Overclock if it runs choppy or slow!!!

Well you can overclock your CPU if need be to 3.0 ghz pretty easily and lower the video settings in game and yes I would say it will run you can also overclock your VGA with both just keep an eye on temps!!! and all should be good!!!!

Do you have 800Mb or 800Gb of hard drive space?

Mb = Megabits; Gb = Gigabits. Divide that by 8 to get MegaBytes and GigaBytes.

And he has 800MB of space (so a bit less than 1TB).

I know the difference, I was not sure if he (or you apparently) did. Given his system specs, I would have been surprised to find out that he had 800G (which would be your mentioned slightly less than 1T) of hard drive space, but you never know. No game would require 800G, at least I hope not...

Ok, but in the same time you asked about bits, instead of bytes ;)

I guess my new PC will be able to run rfactor 2, but to make sure could someone confirm I will be ok.

CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 960T Black Edition @3.0Ghz (In Turbo mode it's @3.4Ghz)
    Ram: 4GB DDR3
    Storage: 500GB Seagate HDD
    Graphics: XFX Radeon HD 6870 1GB DDR5

    Thanks

    Good enough for rF2? :)

CPU: Intel i5-2410M @ 2.3 GHz (turbo mode 2.9 GHz)
    Memory: 4GB DDR3
    Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GT540M 2GB DDR3

I bought a new PC mainly for rF2. Could someone confirm whether rF2 runs well on my new PC? :)

Thank you and sorry for bad english. :)

How the hell we supposed to know that, when there is NO RF 2 yet for us? Wait, buy it and you will se for yourself, if your hardware is good enough or not.

I hoped for such an answer. :)

But I think one of the guys from ISI can say if it should run good or rather not. I guess and hope it will run fine but it would be nice to have a confirmation. :)

The beta requirements might be different to later versions anyway (perhaps less so on low detail, but very likely on high detail). With the huge number of potential combinations in PC specs no one can say with absolute certainty how well it will run unless your machine exactly matches something they've tested with. So Tim (or anyone else) will only ever say "should".

    ;)

We can't have 200 people posting in here, "Hey, this is my system, will it run ok?" and expect someone from ISI to come in and say, yeah, it should be ok, or no, you might have problems.

There's a post with the system requirements and recommended specs in it; I think most people can use that as a good guide.
