A few people came up with the idea of a single fee for a lifetime membership... I like it. I'll see if we can get it worked in for the beta. If not, I'm just going to pretend I never liked the idea in the first place.
Gjon, it is a great idea. But, honestly watching how things are working out, you have made a mistake announcing a possibility. If at the end, you don´t like the idea, you are going to have a few people angry about it. And worst, telling that you say..., you promise..... Do it or not, but watching how people reacts, I think it is better to not announce possiblities.
Gjon just allow trusted people you now private to get this beta and test so much you and the beta tester crew can do. I not wanna see rfactor copied and upload on a site like megaupload before we have a official version done and out for sale. I have seen this before when modders group have done a great mod but before it is offical done the mod is out on internet ;(
That sound good Gjon Probably if it finally comes true I will be one of those who acquire this type of license , even though the annual subscription system does not displease me. P.S sorry for my English .
cloudXXI, thanks for the concern. Yes I do know how some people react, but its more important to me to be able to change my mind for valid reasons, then worry some people might become not so "polite" with me.
No problem... ...if it should be much more than 100$, I'll let my family know. Some of them are already searching a suitable gift for my birthday.
I think that with new matchmaker they could do something like battlefield 3 or iracing,so you can play just after a web login. The problem is with offline license, maybe a good solution is use a retard AI,with cars that runs in the wrong way so who crack the game and play it just offline must buy it for race against better opponents (maybe.....)
rFactor/ISI and modders have given me so many hours of fun that I reckon I would not be able to repay it whatever the price.
What news? There's no news, just a general idea mentioned by someone I like the idea although if the cost would be higher than 5 times yearly fee I would consider it twice before buying. Most likely I would because it translates to 6 years (with one year being free) and It's quite possible I will stick with rF2 for that long anyway. An alternative idea would be to provide lifetime memberships to everyone who paid for let's say 5 years. This way ISI can get back to this idea after 6 years from release
You already have 18 month subscription with preorder, so you are good even after the nearest end of the world ;-)
