Gday ISI, Havent seen any comment on it so far. Will there be a way to add specific servers to a favourites list? One of the more annoying things of rF1, having to scan thru a list of 400 (or whatever number you have put in the PLR file) looking for the one you wish to join. Also, whilst not a big fan of subscription based games, i completely support your pricing model, $12 a year or there abouts. $1 per month. Dont be so tight people, even a kid on pocket money can afford that. iRacing is like 10x this price. Most games come in at about $90 (well here is Australia they do) so for the same price i will be able to get rF2 and about 5 Years life out of it. Seems pretty good to me. Cheers Phil
Thanks Phil. Good suggestion. I actually haven't seen this implemented yet... So... Very good suggestion.
5 yrs ... lol The graphic engine will last for 2-3 yrs unless they don't add the dx11 support meanwhile.
A mention for my Multi-install Launcher that does that for RF1, and enters the password for you too (via the command line).
Can't agree Jux... DX9 can look just fine, and if you think graphics looking 'old' (as DX9 might already, let alone in a few years) will kill the game, why are people still playing rFactor 1?
I got 1 Q If i have get this correct we not wanna pay online acess to rfactor 2 you still can use rf1 or use rfactor 2 and join servers that you now ip from but say goodbye to public servers as we have in rf1 If you pay the online fee how it works when we host dedicated servers ? Must we for every server we host online pay 1 fee so servers can show up in match maker 2 for rf 2 ? 10 server 10 online fee ? Our is just 1 online fee enough then it is ok host as many servers we want ?
I have read somewhere in one of the posts of Tim that hosting won't require an online account at all, only joining a server (including joining your own server) will require an online account.
And I hope the sort function is not case sensitive this time "Now then, was it wrracing or WRRacing?"
In Race07 you can search a server by typing his name. Just something as simple as that would be apreciated...
Any chance to see some screenshots of the UI? BTW you can set the concurrent server updates to 1000 max in rfactor. But reading a feature for favourite servers has not been implemented for rfactor2, do you have any beta testers giving feedback? Ask s.o. who plays rfactor regularly. The UI is perfect on track: settings, car-setup, chat, etc. can be accessed with only a few clicks (no cascading menus!). But the serverbrowser/matchmaker-thing is just annoying.
i think it would be great if it only showed up the mods that you have installed, as i dont need to see the rest
Sorry for offtopic but... If your basing the sims longetivity by DX version, then please explain GPL's lifespan for me
Gameplay and physics beats graphics anyday of the week IMO. Id be happy playing rF1 for another 5 years if there wasnt an upgrade coming. Ive tried plenty of the latest gen racing games with all the flashy graphics and dx11, and the thing they usually always lack is good gameplay and physics. Phil
it would also be nice to have a filter in the server list, same as all the shooter games, to exclude full, or empty servers, just show open wheel racing or GT type servers or all types of racing... maybe even exclude servers that are in the middle of a race you can not join anyway.
