Well, you can probably count on one of two things, anyway. Either the beta will be released, or we'll probably be told it wont release this year after all. One way or another something is bound to happen in the next 31 days.

I dont mind if the "full" game isnt released for a while. What most (F1, Nascar, etc) league admins who follow real life schedules with their leagues care about is, will we be able to convert current mods to the sim with just the beta, so we can start on time?

Im at a crossroads because I really dont like the idea of starting with rFactor1, then switching to rfactor2 midseason or something like that.

    thanks,
    B. Gant

    Same here.
Perhaps even worse because I'm running GT1 league which gives me two unknowns: rF2 and GTR3.

Both of these titles may turn out to be driver's choice suddenly in the middle of a season and it's hard to find people to race in a league if you're offering them something that is not their choice.

Just don't switch to rF2 mid-season if you don't like the idea of it, don't see why it's a problem to be honest.

If the beta gets here by xmas then league admins will have allot more to go on then just having to guess whats going to happen. With the beta in use there can be allot of testing and figuring out whats new etc.
That would give admins and communities much more room to discuss and plan new seasons in both sims.

The problem is, that very little people will be interested in participating in GT1 league based on rFactor, when they have rF2 and GTR3 on their HDD :D

While they don't have it on their HDD it's no problem, but when they do, it will not be a good idea to offer something outdated.
Since we don't know when it's gonna happen, we have a dilema now :)

If I were you, I'd wait until all tracks and mods could be converted 100% so you don't have half-arsed mods and tracks. Already plenty of that out there as it is.

You really don't want to run a league race with a beta, anything could happen to cause issues with the race and it could be unfair to some. A private beta is usually done by a small amount of testers, although their testing is thorough and dedicated, private beta testing lacks the ability to stress test the game. The game could work perfectly under heavy load, but no one knows that until its been done. Then by the time the official release comes out, the modders would have had their hands on it and mods will be available to use with a 'proven to be stable' game.

That will be the first thing that will be tested mianiak...ill get all active 30 or so guys i know, and just sit on server all night...for issues..lol.

I just hope this beta is still on for 2011. and at the least "mod mode" is implemented, so modders can start learning the new sim.

Yeah that's right, just having fun rallies is as far as you would want to go with leagues for now.
