Maybe it's time to renew the conversation? RFactor 2 contains many new features, which will require effort, knowledge and experience to build fully compatible with RF2 tracks, It is obvious that lot of tracks will not use the potential of RF2. So what that ISI is working on weather system, live-track etc, if only part of tracks will use it? High polly usage? Tracks from initial release probably so... Only small part of tracks in RF1 are very good quality, for example those made by Virtua_LM. If all the tracks would as good as Virtua LM trakcs, RF1 would have been much more competitive. In my opinion, it is time to change the policy and choose quality. So ISI? Pick up the gloves and choose quality? There are lots of talented people in the community.
It would be great to get our hands on the tools and a scene viewer. Without the game to rush models into, people will spend a lot of time playing with the tools and seeing what they can get out of them. By the time the game is released people will have a good idea what the new graphics engine is capable of and instead of getting a huge influx of tracks/mods that don't use the full potential, you will have a huge influx of tracks/mods that use most if not all of the potential.
I expect it will take about a year or even more, until 3D model creators will take full advantage of what rF 2 will offer (that said, I assume ISI will provide much better support and documentation that it was for rF 1).
Bump on behalf of the whole endurance multi-class racing community. Would be nice if an admin cleaned up this thread and removed all the irrelevant iRacing vs rFactor2 banter.
+1 Moderator, can we please get rid og the off-topic ? We are talking ideas, issues and debugging in this thread - for endurance multi-class racing.
