Interesting, I didn't know about that support. I read before some people complaining about any "intentional slowdown" to harm ATI users but now it sounds a bit silly.
You should call them AMD now by the way as ATi is no longer alive. They are official dead after AMD are now naming all the cards AMD (the only name that will stay is radeon)
Have a look at this site.... CAN YOU RUN IT? to see if your pc can handle a game.. http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/
I bought a GTX 460 (GSGLH 1Gb, Gainward), coming from a MSI 8800GTS (G80), great card. After 3 years of service i've decided to move to a faster one mainly for use the full-hd resolution without too much compromises. A mainstream TFT panel got a hughly scaler inside, so using the native resolution is not an option for me, expecially for my eyes. my card purchase is simply the price/performance first. GF2 GF3 ATI9800Pro 8800GTS GTX460 I hope it helps.
We have to wait a bit longer to speculate about minimum hardware... just my opinion. If you dont mind, I'd like to change the subject for a short while: I read people mentioning Iracing graphics... I couldn't notice remarkable differences between IR graphics in comparison to any good mod / track into RFactor1 and, to be honest, some Race On tracks appear be more polished... Am I blind?
ATI drivers are crap - at least for the mid level cards. HD 5770 had the famous "blue screen of death". It was a driver problem and ATI didn't fix that even after a year of the card release. While it was not a problem in rFactor, it always crashed my pc in Richard Burns Rally. Now I have bought a nVidia card and I have no problems. I will never buy a ATI card again.
I´m using a "Point of View" 8800GTX card an I have those lockups from time to time aswell - using the d3d-patch for DX9. As I got a second card yesterday, can someone recommend a motherboard for using SLI with those cards??
What spec is your CPU/GPU?, I run rF and iRacing with every setting maxxed, They are chalk and cheese too my eyes, iRacing is the best I've seen graphics wise. I love my rF but aways find it had to look it for a while after a running iRacing.
