    Hello,

I just read the article over at Virtual IR & I see there will only be the Dedicated Server option in rF2. I am confused, why would you go away from local multiplayer setup? Can I run a dedicated server on the same computer I am racing on? Will we be able to host and run on the same pc? Please shed some light on this.

You can host using dedicated on the same machine you are racing with rFactor1. Why it shouldn't be possible with rF2?

    IMO good choice of ISI.

You can do that with rF1 too. As a result the server connection for clients is better.

Ok, I guess I stand corrected. Someone once told me that the dedicated in rF1 would slow the host machine down. What are the advantagest to the dedicated. Maybe I will start using this. Thanks,

    Hi MJ,

i can't tell you much about the built-in server within rFactor.exe. But you might consider changing the following value from "-1" to a value grater than "0" and start with "1" to see how your system reacts when you start using the "rFactor Dedicated.exe" ... !?!?

This option can be found in your .PLR file of each profile.

Active Sleep Time="-1" // ms to sleep each loop if the game is the active app (-1 to disable). Consider setting to 1 or more if you are running a dedicated server on the same machine.

    Cheers
    Frank

build in server also slows down your machine. There must be resources overhead because both (ingame and dedicated) do the same.
If do the same why to wast money to build server into 2 applications.

Should we move this thread to rF1 Tech help? I didn't mean it to turn into this.
