Hi all, I'm new to online racing and need some help please. I can get through the practice no problem but every time the race is about to start I get connection lost??
So I've managed to get a couple of races online now after someone suggested I needed to verify game files within steam but I still find after the practice I'm taken back to the screen where it says starting servers and the time wheel is continuously spinning and taking ages to load race? I'm sure the race has started by now? Is this the norm with online racing and servers?
The starting servers message is a bug. Go back one screen then forward again and it will sorts it's self out. Good luck
Thanks for your help. Will try that. Again though finished practice and the race was about to begin and got connection lost? Is it normally like this or is it my end? Also do I need to come out of the practice to register?
You have to register before the begining of the event. The practice servers aren't the race servers. Then you have to exit of the practice server and enter in the race server.
Ok thanks for your help. So let me come out of practice and then register and I'll wait for the clock to count down and hopefully click to join race server? How do I qualify then? I've had 2 random races online all day as struggling to get into the race servers but did qualify on them 2 races.
Tried this and went back one screen but still have the starting servers wheel spinning all the time? Is online racing always like this?
Is it correct that I have to verify the integrity of files within Steam library every time I want to go online with Rfactor?
It's better to register before. I use to register more than 5 minutes berore the begining of the event and return to the practice server. Then, before the end of the practice, i exit the server. Wait until the begining of the event and click the join server. You don't have to check the integrity of the files every time you enter to the server. I think that is useful to do this after every update.
Many thanks for your assistance. I will give it one last go as have tried that way of registering then leaving practice and then waiting for the countdown for race server and then it's at that point where I get stuck with the loading servers screen?
I haben't had that problem. I don't know But i always register to the event more than 5 minutes before (i read it, i don't know where)
Ok many thanks. Maybe it's my end? The practice ends and I get taken back to previous screen it finally loaded race server and when I clicked join I was put back in a practice again?
