Hi all, I have changed some engine sounds in F1 1999 mod. in devmode it is woking fine however in the game when I pack the mas files i heard missing sounds. Can some tell me what do I do wrong? Here you can find the vehicle what I use in "normal" mode: https://mega.nz/file/ZxMzgSzL#n8ZWtumvPIVi7RVEmEoD39-ttq9mu2bFxS1daIORG-s And here is the devmod files: https://mega.nz/file/90EyEazI#S11i1IrDFBpCIJ5tFXIj3S4c3IYA3c_r5asrrQH4-NM
Just out of Curiosity i checked the DevMode Version and if you mean the onboard Engine Sounds, they don't sound good there already. Too silent and not really like an Engine. What exactly did you change at the Sounds?
Hmm for me it works fine in devmode, i just changes the reference and added sounds which wasn't part of it
Here you can find the devmode sound: and here is the in game sound: I am not saying it is very good in devmode sound but sounds much better than in the "normal" mode and I dont know what do i do wrong Do you have any idea? @redapg
I was talking about the onboard Sounds (Cockpit View), that don't sound good in DevMode. I now packaged the mas Files from the first Post, that you use, to an installable rfcmp and with that, in Single Player, the onboard Sounds also don't sound good and are much too silent. The outside Sounds are OK, in both, in DevMode and also in Single Player. How do you use the mas Files? Do you also create an rfcmp of them and install it? EDIT And what do you mean with "changes the reference"?
Yes i udnerstand but if you check the videos that I sent above (both of them in tv cockpit view) you can here the big difference between the devmode and the "normal" mode. in devmode I can clearly hear all the sounds while in "normal mode" is much more silend and i notice missing sounds. I just overwritten the sounds mas and changed the sfx file in the main mas. with every other changes (hdv, veh etc..) it works fine except the sounds EDIT: changes the references mean lot of sounds ws referrred to a folder which was not exists. So I put all the missing sounds which was in the sfx file to the F1_1999_Stewart_SOUNDS folder and i refer all the sounds to that folder. Here you can see the difference old sfx: https://mega.nz/file/9gNFwDTJ#PaCfjSbOAiPBQTIWcI6RoRCzvMMzVhqoCSVYduP6No4 new sfx: https://mega.nz/file/8k9DETxS#hoj43H1gNYaK26gQw872XxdUUVdrJ6Mqg1BHvRNQpfg
At first: onboard means Cockpit View (not TVCockpit), because only there you hear the inside Sounds. Below is a Video how it Sounds for me in Single Player (main Game), with your mas Files packaged as rfcmp and installed, onboard and external.
For me in DEVMODE sounds like this, i am not saying it is good but much better than in in game (same as you sent me in the post above) what causes the difference?
That is how it sounds in DevMode here. I have the Suspicion, that you have a File "Conflict" in DevMode, in that Way, that you have 2 Sound SFX Files with the same Name, but different Content. And so it can happen, that you package a wrong one into the mas File. Check it and ensure that the Sound SFX File that you use and edit in DevMode, is the only one with this Name and that you also use that in the main Game.
I have a default.sfx file but since the veh file refer to the correct sfx file I dont think so that should be a problem. Howvere I deleted that default.sfx file still in "normal game" the sound is bad. In Devmode it is woking "fine" as just for you in devmode in the last post. I dont have other sfx wiht the same name unfortunately I dont know what causes the different.
I have to leave now.. If there is no other f1wcp1999_ford.sfx File, i would suggest to rename the UserData Folder for the main Game and the DevMode, to keep them as a Backup and then start the Game to get fresh ones and check the Sounds without to edit something. In that Way you can check if it's maybe caused by a corrupted File or "weird" Setting.
Oh my god you are right' There was another f1wcp1999_ford.sfx File in minardi folder. I renamed it to f1wcp1999_minardi.sfx and now it is working fine' Thank you so much the help and the support'
