Hello, Rfactor 2 has some Crashes to desktop or freez with the lastest AMD GPU drivers. intel 10700k RX 6800 XT Windows 11 Asus Tuff z490 plus 32 Go RAM 2133MHZ AMD Adrenalin 22.5.1 Works fine AMD drivers Adrenalin 23.4.2 Crash to desktop or freez (offline and online) AMD drivers Pro 22Q4 Crash to desktop or freez (offline and online) Notes about crashes Most of the time, at the first session it's possible to last a fwew laps then the game crashes. When restarting without rebooting windows it's impossible to do one lap or two maximum. The game can instant close and the wheel is still lock on the left or right, or it can freez like in the video bellow My traces Logs are available attached to this message Examples in video bellow Hope those informations can help to fix the problem. I just get dumped back to the desktop after sitting at 100% loading for a few seconds. Win 10, 16GB, Ryzen 3600, 6900xt. Reverting back to 22.5.1 solves the issue. Doesn't happen in any other games.
thanks for investigating. I doubt we will get any solution from AMD. I don't have/use Discord but perhaps somebody can ping the S397 devs there.
It seems the same with Nvidia I have massive crashes (freeze then desktop return) with NVIDIA 4090 and intel 13900K, and my simucube 2 is crashed too and is locked on the left or right with max force, I have to reboot the wheel base. To protect my simucube 2 which is very expensive , I have to stop playing until a fix. I use Windows 11. edti : seems fixed with the big W11 update : smooth like the butter
Yes the game is playable with the 22.5.1 but ive noticed that even with this one if i let the game running too long in the menu while doing something else the Rfactor 2 crashes to destop. Same thing sometimes in a session if there is no imput in the game and the car is stoped in the garage or on the road the game got a high chance to crash to desktop even with the 22.5.1 drivers.
I'm running on 22.5.1 and have a 6800 XT, and I dont have those problems you incounter. Perhaps some AMD settings causing this? I can attach some screenshots of my settings tonight.
22.5.1 is still fine with my 6800 XT. I can reproduce the crash exactly the same in the Video posted above. It is always at the same location in Bahrain keep that in mind. The Game doesn't crash/freeze , when you don't touch the curb on the outside at all. Staying away from it, i could run 30min without any crashes, even with the newest AMD Driver. As soon as i touch the kerb and get some FFB in the wheel from the Kerb it instantly crashes again at this corner. It doesnt matter which car or how fast i go over this curb... Something is strange at this exact location, in connection with an AMD Card. The crashes/freezes at Nordschleife are also always at the same Location with the newest drivers
