I've been having this problem for a long time and it must be something related to the fact that the server is physically on my local network, because the rest of the pilots don't complain about this. I know because they would have complained to me. The fact is that if I open rFactor 2 and go directly to multiplayer, filter by word in the general list or favorites, our servers always come out quickly. But if I leave that page without logging in or if I log in and have to exit for any configuration tweak, when I try again to refresh the list of servers they no longer appear. And they stay like this for a long time, no matter how many times refresh it or if I just go away for a few minutes and then come back. In the end they end up appearing, but it is very very annoying, especially when for whatever reason you have had to leave the server shortly before the start of the race and you are left looking at the empty list of servers without being able to do anything more than refresh the list until infinity. Any idea what can cause this error or what parameter I can tweak so that it doesn't happen? Thank you very much in advance for your help. Edited: I've made a video, I think that's how I express myself better.
Doesn't work "Favorite Servers" anymore? If it still works, add your Server to it, that you can join it from there.
What do you mean by "But if I leave that page without logging in or if I log in" ? How can you "log in" in the UI of rFactor 2 ? I mean we start the game and nothing else ... what do you call "log in" ?
I have tried it, I always have my servers marked as favorites, but it doesn't matter if I search from the complete list as if from favorites. I have not found differences in time.
Excuse my English. I wanted to say that it doesn't matter if I keep refreshing the page until they appear again, like if I exit the server list or if I completely exit rF2. It takes a while for my servers to show up again. And meanwhile, in each refresh the others always exit.
If you would leave the Game completely, after you have made your Changes, you could use a Shortcut with a direct Link to start it again, that directly leads you to the Multiplayer Car Selection Menu, so that you don't have to search for it. Did you try that already?
Just a moment! Have I understood correctly? Is there a way to link to a server like rF1's IP mode or by URL like in other sims? Because that would be my salvation. Tell me how I have to do that!!
Hello, check the links in the left side of this list page of active servers : http://danrazor.net/rF2_servers/ It's something like steam://run/365960//+connect your_ip:your_port 365960 is the steam id of rFactor 2. There is even a way to add the password ... PS : If set well, your server is probably in the list.
If you don't find something on the List of @DanRZ try this (should still work): Make a Shortcut to the rFactor2.exe that is in the ..\Bin64 Folder. Then rightclick on it and select Properties. Into the Field "Target" write this: "G:\Steam\steamapps\common\rFactor 2\Bin64\rFactor2.exe" +multiplayer +connect="79.208.49.24:64297" and into the Field "Execute in" write this: rFactor2.exe "G:\Steam\steamapps\common\rFactor 2" (without the Bin64!) Adapt your Pathes IP and Port! Then start the Game with that Shortcut.
WOW!!! Thank you very much @DanRZ and @redapg This doesn't solve my problem, but it doesn't matter because it IS SO MUCH BETTER!!! Both methods work, except for removing the /Bin64/ which makes it start rF2 but doesn't enter multiplayer. In any case, what has been said, I'm going better than if I had found the solution to the problem, because this solution, which they had told me in this forum did not exist, will save me a lot of time in the future. Thanks for everything.
