I don't get it ? ...........but I only mention again as LMU has same oversight. I told you the fix for this back at ISI. The reason this happens is you are using a old version of 2013 in rF2 and LMU. The latest version of 2013 way back when addressed this issue of Visual C++ disappearing. Problem was it was never added to windows as automatic download. I mean not ISI fault even Steam and studios miss or forget to update VC++ Yes I just checked Steam again, still missing this FIX x:\STEAM\steamapps\common\Steamworks Shared\_CommonRedist\vcredist\2013 Thing is latest version has the FiX to prevent this threads symptom. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us...-package-18d278e8-1c79-2630-e8ae-e9f4679b2393 If you scroll bottom of page and download your country 12.0.40664.0 will solve issue. You're l0 years late but better then never rF2 \ LMU: 12.0.21005.1 = No fix STEAM: 12.0.3.501.0 = No fix Latest ( updated 2013): 12.0.40664.0 = fixed
You're replying to a post from 2017. If S397 haven't fixed this yet then email them. I haven't worked for them in a long time.
I know it is 2017 I explained to you at ISi the issue, they ignored it I told S397 of issue, they ignore it. This fix was out 10 years ago and I am sure you were working for them then ? So when LMU comes out with the same issue I have to say something. Third try, so more drastic this time straight to the point maybe someone from S397 wakes up. Yes I realize I used you as first person, sorry about that. The ironic thing is even Steam are yet to add the fix to the support folder. 10 years too late. P.S. Seems the majority really do let their OS fix themselves in the background, even Steam. 10 years not a single employee picked up on this exclusion ? Or ... they knew about the fix but did not implement it ? I would love to hear the excuse. They all wearing blinkers.
It was passed on at ISI as I still have the email, I frankly don't remember at S397. And yeah, I replied as it appeared you were addressing me.
1. I not sure if S397 can add the update to support without Steam doing it first. ? I fairly certain they could, gets confusing because between Steam, rF2, LMU ( and other sims ) MS updates you have 3 versions. As well does no one can get in sync. Microsoft use vcredist_x64 which is what Steam copies which means you can't drop all years in one folder and run a batch Thankfully all-in-one pack does this for you vcredist2013_x64 rF2 and LMU use vcredist_2013_x64 which imho is how they should be all named So not only 3 versions but 3 naming formats I mean I like to do fresh installs of Steam folders which needs no updating, no mods, no changes, etc. When you do this with rF2 and now LMU will install the old 2013 alongside the new one. Other sims do this for 2012 and other years if they have also not been updated. There is a way around it, you can copy the latest update to both Steam, and any steam sim has a vcredist folder. If you now install any sim uses them won't add old versions. As soon as Steam " tools" is updated you have to overwrite the old one again. Just be handy if people running that area in sims could fix this. Obvious they have missed it, I understand why, still once you know the situation you should address it. Basic PC function is to run the latest updates.
