Has anyone encountered a command window popping up every time they start RF2? What is the reason for this? As the game closes, the command line window also closes.

Hi, that is also the case with me. Since the last Windoqs update, it happens with rF2 and Blender. I am looking for the reason

I 'think' it has always been there, but flashed by so quickly we hardly ever noticed it. Now it does linger for a short while.

The Command window remains visible in the taskbar all the time.

Ok, seems to be a Windows 11 issue right now.

On Windows 11 go to Settings->Privacy & Security -> For developers
In the list on the right, for Terminal choose Windows Console Host.
That should solve the issue. Sometimes Windows updates reset that value to Let Windows Decide. And it obviously decides wrong in this case.

L.E.: for clarity's sake: Windows Console Host is the good old cmd.exe. The Let Windows Decide option should in theory choose the right terminal app, according to how it is called, but most often that not it chooses the 'new and improved'[tm] Windows Terminal, which obviously has a different set of flags/options that are incompatible with the cmd.exe ones, thus it fails to hide the window.
