    Hi there,

I've been learning 3D modeling, UV mapping and others things over the last couple of months. I've got a long way too go, but I wanted to check my new model in game.

I've got the placement of the new rim (updating from another mod for testing purposes) right in Blender. Exported the FBX to 3DSimEd. It loads in game but the position is all wrong.

Do you have some tips or tricks to have to model in the right place?

    Thanks.
    Niels

When the Position in Blender is correct and you have it loaded in 3DSimEd and it's in the correct Position there too, go to "Edit" (in 3DSimEd) in the main Menu and then click the Button "Face Data Attributes", that is on the right, below of the main Menu.
In the opening Window, set the Pivot Point to 0,0,0 and click OK and export the Mesh.
That normally should solve the Problem.

EDIT Sometimes Parts of a Wheel have set a Pivot Point that is not 0,0,0.
If the above said won't work, load the old Rim into 3DSimEd too.
If the old Rim has a Pivot Point that is not 0,0,0, copy it's Pivot Point.
Then paste that into the Pivot Point Field of the new Rim, click OK and export the new Rim.

    Thanks for the reply.

I opened up 3DSimEd and the model. I can't click "Face Data Attributes" because it's greyed out.

Did you buy 3DSimEd or do you use it in the "Test" Phase?

EDIT Or did you maybe "import as Objects"?
If yes, just load it with "import".

I've bought SimEd. And I will check my steps regarding the import choice.

The easiest Way is to click the "Import" Button in the "Home" Menu and import the old Rim.
Then do the same with the new Rim, that opens in a new Tab inside of 3DSimEd then.
Now, in both Tabs, should the Edit -> "Face Data Attributes" Button be visible and you can copy the Pivot Point from the old Rim and paste it to the new Rim.
