I have an issue with the caterham, the steering wheel rotation doesn't match my sc2 pro rotation, what's wrong with this car?

The default wheel rotation (886 or so?) doesn't work right. 720° should be fine, and is apparently the more correct option anyway for the race package.

A lot of more 720+ degrees rotation cars don't work right.
It is a huge issue for a simulator.

For example the drift cars from Rastas and the silvia from another modder don't have good synchronisation between virtual and real wheel.

Same for my old T300 and my GT DD PRO (csl dd).

Car makers need to set the cars up right, it's not the fault of the game itself.

Yes but there is problems with S397 cars and also some ISI cars for example.
So perhaps there is an issue with the game?

It's still people making those cars :D

Caterham works fine at 720° and below, I would guess that it's set up for 720 as a base and then the 886 setting overrides it - which breaks the wheel rotation. (there's a devmode warning specifically for this scenario)

If any car can be set up to 1000° or higher and work fine (I've done some myself, and I'm sure there are many) then every car should be able to. There are several spots in the car that need to agree for the rotation to be correct, and as above upgrades or special overrides can break things too. Errors happen, ISI or S397 or third party. Unfortunately this sort of thing can manage to creep in at the last minute and not get noticed, and then (especially for official content) you have to work out when to update to not interfere with official and unofficial competition too much - and it's fair to say content updates (/fixes) don't happen very quickly anyway.
