    Hi, Ive made many skins over the last year without an issue.
    I'm working on an indycar skin for someone and wanted to create a test.mas so they could look at it in the showroom.
    Have done this heaps with the formula pro with no issue.
    I've created the skin as per (using the alt livery) but when I try to create a mas file it comes out all white.
    I put it in its own test category to make it easier to find, nut also tried in with default content and made no difference.
    in the edit skin section the materials all match what I've set, so something is working. I've rechecked the naming all is good, any ideas ?

    Thanks

    I noticed some cars have "GenString=B" instead of S, I tried that but no difference

    your skin file reference in veh file is:
    DefaultLivery="S65.dds"
    MaterialOverride="S65.json"

    but in screenshot its "SOWENS65.dds"

    could be that?

    sorry, screenshot was from an earlier attempt, I simplified naming to lessen the chance of mistakes.
    But thanks, it's got to be something silly.
    I mad a mas for the formula pro with the same files and it works, just jumbled up obviously, so it must me something in the .veh

    Ok I found what is causing the issue but I'm now more confused
    it's with the material override in the .veh. I'd always changed this to match the naming convention of the .dds and .json files and that works just fine with the formula pro, however with the Indycar you have to leave the
    MaterialOverride="IR18_BaseMat.json"
    else you get a white livery.
    Yet still the materials seem to be correct.
    So either I was completely wrong before, even though it worked, or something has changed

    that sounds strange, does it load your "alt.json" anyway, the paint shinyness etc?

    Yep materials look correct, which is why I am confused, I mean it works perfectly well if the .json is named as per the DDS files and the material override is left as default, so the issue is solved but what does the material override actually do then ?

    Ok thanks, weird though cause formula pro does not have this issue, I've only just come across it on the indycar

    I think you are not supposed to change the material override in the veh. The game knows when there is a „new“ matrerial overide for a skin

    GenString=B for rim black
    GenString=S for rim silver
