Hello, I had a hardware crash during an Rf2 game and it rebooted the computer. Since when I want to quit the game when I select "Exit", the screen freezes and I have to turn off the computer. I replaced the "player.ison" file, the game works normally but the problem remains. What do you recommend?
In such Cases it's always: before you start the Game, rename the whole Folder ...\Steam\steamapps\common\rFactor 2\UserData into UserData_Backup for Example, then start the Game, to get a fresh one generated and check if that solves the Problem.
I tried your advice but it didn't solve the problem. So I did the same action as you advised me but with the root file "Rf2_Backup" and I recovered an old backup of a root folder. I restarted and it worked. I just had to put some folder: controller and others recovered in the old root folder "Rf2_Backup" Thanks
i dont understand the magics behind your "rf2-backup / root folder recovered" can you explain? Asking for a friend
Strange that it didn't work with a fresh Userdata Folder, but with a Backup of an older one. Anyway, the main Thing is that it works again.
Indeed replacing the "Userdata" folder did not work. So I renamed the root folder which for me is called "rF2" to "rF2_Backup". With a backup of the installation folder that I made right after installing the game. ...\Steam\steamapps\common\rF2\ I retrieved the personal element in: ...\Steam\steamapps\common\rF2_Backup that I poured into the new ...\Steam\steamapps\common\rF2 examples, the folders: Controller, setting, Player.ison etc... And it works well. So ! if it can help
perhaps the backup was confusing the sim when it came time to close out the various .json files. If it found more than one copy, which one does it write to? Interesting.
