In July 2021, in thread "Latest candidate release-June 2021", I wrote:
"Yes this is what i was waiting for months (years)."
    Because of this pictures:

It's almost like being in ACC!!!

But since the last releases, these effects have disappeared

Only the reflection of the light source remains.

Could someone from S397 explain this backwards step?

Move the car over the puddles and you will see the car reflected, like you can see the wall reflected on the right hand side.

Sorry if I misspoke, but this is not the reflection of the car I am talking about. Can you please reread from the beginning and look at the pictures, especially the second last one.

I think Philman is saying that the diffused part of the reflection is missing.

Have you got more screenshots Philman? (To show that it's not just a certain part of a track)

There are plenty of other examples in the community photos.
    For instance:

So the diffusion is missing vertical blur. @Alex Sawczuk Is this intended or maybe is there an issue with the shader.

The way the reflections are shown was reworked in the Q2 release. They are now more spread out and less likely to just be a quite unrealistic mirror across all surfaces. Some abstraction was necessary on the most diffuse reflections though, they just come from the generic specular mapper, with the other reflections blending in as the road becomes more saturated, due to technical limitations.

By the way, what is the reason that road screen spaces reflexions have a huge impact on fps even in dry conditions?

I am unfortunately unable to comment on the technical aspects of the representation of these effects. What I personally think is that this representation is much less realistic than the previous one. In my opinion, the aspect given by the fourth photo of my post is very realistic. But maybe we are in a transitional phase due to the new methods of representation of these reflections. Is it planned to have new developments on this subject in the future?
