It seems when I have time to get on and do a competition race no one else is on, if I run the race alone, does it count?
The answer is that it depends. Competitions can use their own scoring systems and those determine how and when points are awarded. A quick summary is that ranked scoring needs 2 or more people to show up whereas points table based ones just award points regardless.
