[WIP] Archers' weather tool

I have created and used the application for few months now, seems to be working well and i thought i should share with the community.

Its a short term forecast working with OpenWeatherMap and Climacell v4 API, there are dynamically updated racing locations with predefined coordinates of each track but user can also input other lat/lon.

Nothing more, nothing less, i hope iot will be useful to you too

The user receives weather forecast data from the updated, former climacell API, now called tomorrow.io v4 API.

As always you need an API key to make it work, all the documentation can be found here and can sign up here.

The locations of the circuits are updated gradually without any action from the user according to wikipedia coordinates of the track.

What exactly does this tool do?
Does it only show the forecast or does it implement the weather into rF2, like Stefans Weather Plugin?

 

No, weather forecast from the same source (tomorrow.io) of the plugin though . . .

 

if I want to add a track how can I do it?

 

I can only do this Just tell me the track

 

Hello, does this app update the .wet file once ? Or on the fly ?

 

This is a forecast tool, nothing to do with game files.

 

It's not possible to add a function to modifiy the weather of the game during a race ?

 

I believe all servers use https://forum.studio-397.com/index.php?threads/weatherplugin.58614/ and its working pretty well.
No need to have one more, not yet.

I just created a free tomorrow.io API and I'm receiving 403 forbidden errors when I try.

Is there anything special I need to do at tomorrow.io to get this working?

 

No idea, have not worked with this for long time, using the API key ? There are a lot of examples on their site !

 

It could be nice to tackle whether we could use this one - does not need API key, but it's currently limited for "fair-use" - no more than 10000 calls per day from IP. Should be enough for a LOT of people. https://open-meteo.com/

 

Sure, however the weather plugin uses tomorrow.io as weather source
Any other source would not be similar to server weather
