Nice One @Chris Lesperance (and team) RF2 needs more F3, type cars and to have these with the current liveries is great news. Will try them out later
I just happened to find the 2018 and 2019 Rule book that has a quite a bit of info. https://www.autoracing1.com/PDFs/2018/IndyLights_Rulebook.pdf https://www.autoracing1.com/PDFs/2019/IndyLights_Rulebook.pdf Again, i don't have the knowledge to convert that into the physics, but if somebody wants to try, here is some info.
So, reviving an old thread. A few months ago, a halo addon was made for the AC version of this car. I converted it over to rF2, and wasn't happy with the accuracy. In my extremely limited 3d knowledge, i found the halo from the 2020 Formula 2 mod, and adjusted it to fit on the Indy Lights car. 1. Is there an interest? 2. Does any body know FCsongoR on Steam, so that I can ask for permission to release? 3. The car is only using IBL for the main WCCARBODY. My previous attempts of doing the other materials were never good. ANybody want to try and get this up to current content level? 4. I think I implemented push to pass? But not sure if I did it right. I've always liked Indy Lights. It races at all the same IndyCar tracks (Road, street, Ovals), but it isn't as fast, so it is a bit more approachable. Just trying to get the car near the quality of the current content being released.
Between last night and today, I did my best to convert the textures to IBL standard. So I think I'm set with an next beta version Improvements from this version (https://forum.studio-397.com/index....-2016-and-indylights.55779/page-2#post-999267) - IBL for most textures - Decreased weight per the rulebooks - Added Halo for 2021 and later cars - taken from FCsongoR's Formula 2 mod, adjusted to fit Indy Lights car. - Added 2021 #26 Linus Lundqvist car by Hawk__ (https://www.racedepartment.com/down...hts-indy-lights-grg-26-linus-lundqvist.46281/) - Added Push to Pass - Races session and road course only - If I did it right - Added IL_TIRES_SW.tbc. This is the same as the IL_TIRE.tbc but removes the Wet tire selection for ovals. Bugs: I think I broke the wet tire texture. Everything seems right, but switching to wets will still display as slicks. Improvements: I found the 2022 rule book. It has dedicated pages for gear ratios. If some one wants to look at that and add them in. https://paddock.indycar.com/ruleboo...Home/action/Index?folder=Documents/RuleBooks/ I have excellent reference shots for the 2021 cars that I took at Road America. If anybody wants to take a stab at painting, I can sent you the shots I have. I have close up shots of the wet tire patterns. I might try and update those textures. Let me know what you think. https://www.mediafire.com/file/3f77nnn8id8bhxw/URD_Formula_Lights_993.rfcmp/file
when I try to install it's looking for an unknown base mod? installed original v0.99 and improved version 0.991 (alternatively) before but still no luck???
Is it not this version: https://forum.studio-397.com/index....-2016-and-indylights.55779/page-2#post-999267 If it isn't that, I'll reupload it with out it being an update. I'm sure I had a few extra versions through out the years of updating.
Please see post #53 https://forum.studio-397.com/index....2016-and-indylights.55779/page-3#post-1095980
It was a rushed upload as I was leaving for a work trip. Apologies. I'll get it repackaged up and uploaded one more time when I get back this weekend.
I tested this time, please uninstall all other versions. Let me know how it is. https://www.mediafire.com/file/kpqyjvzt4qprvuu/URD_Formula_Lights_993.rfcmp/file
Hi Chris Unfortunately all the skins are just showing up as black on the 2021 season? Thanks for all your hard work on this btw I love the road to indy mods/skins!
That is correct. I created the car grid, but didn't paint them. I have all the reference photos a person will need to paint them. I just don't have the time to do it at the moment.
I don't remember doing anything with the mirrors. I don't recall any issues with them. Do you know what was wrong with them? I can take a look. I got some reference of the 2022 cars last weekend. Not as much as I usually get. I'm debating on doing the 2022 cars. Is there any interest? I'm moving from project to project, just seeing what I can get motivated to do.
What happens is the mirror shows me what's ahead of me instead of what's behind me. By default it looks at the sky diagonally... So it's f*cked up. I tried to adjust it but it can turn only 90 degrees so I can't fix it with the in-game mirror adjustments. 2022 Indy Lights? Why not?
Just to confirm, that is for the Indy Lights? I'll have to take a look tonight. Might just need the mapping flipped, which I think I know how to do.
