After the release of our Ginetta and Nagoya last year, we wanted to do even more and even better. That’s why we are bringing you 2 brand new LMP1 cars this time: the BR Engineering BR1 and Rebellion R13. Along with those, the Nagoya – previously payware – is now available for free in the Steam Workshop as the Toyota TS050.

The physics for all 4 cars have been rebuilt from scratch by our new physics engineer April, with the objective to improve the authenticity and handling, as well as getting them within a realistic pace window. All cars feature high downforce and low downforce aero configurations and a We are very happy with the current state of the physics, but there will no doubt be multiple updates that will improve various aspects of the physics. At least one big update in the future will improve the current (rough) League BOP ahead of season 2 of the Global Endurance Series.

The bases of both the Rebellion and the BR1 are made by OpticalDreamSoft and updated by our incredible 3D modellers Frederick Alonso and Valjouss. The cockpits have been built from scratch.

The BR1 has 2 engine configurations with their own characteristics in engine performance and inertia, giving them their own distinct character. The DragonSpeed cars have the Gibson V8 engine and the SMP cars have the AER V6 Turbo engine. For now, the BR1 only comes with the low downforce (LDF) 3D model. A future update will also add the high downforce (HDF) nose in the same way that we’ve done this on the Toyota.

The Rebellion of course uses the Gibson V8 engine. The car currently comes with the high downforce nose, with the LDF nose to be added in a future update. The Rebellion also includes the Alpine A480 LMH, complete with an adjusted set of physics. The LMH physics are a very rough adjustment of the LMP1 physics right now, but will be refined in future updates as well.

Enough reading! Subscribe to the cars in the Steam Workshop and enjoy them. If you like the cars, please consider to donate a bit of your beer money, so we can keep investing in future projects. We are already working on the Peugeot 9X8 hypercar and would love to keep doing cars like these in the future!

Would this be better off in the Third Party section rather than the (technical) modding area?

You bet they're awesome to drive as well as just look at. Scared myself at LeMans but am now coming to terms with their weight and power. Setup feels quite stable so far. Mucho gracias GEM!

There was no Alpine A480 in the Steam download of the Rebellion.
    Have I missed something?
    TIA

All of your LMP1 cars got an update today, I'm assuming this is to balance the new sound system.

It's a fix for several bugs and a few refinements. There has been a small adjustment in sound levels, but we haven't fully reviewed the new sound system yet, so we don't know if they need updating, let alone when it will be updated.

Full changelogs are available in the Steam Workshop or on our Discord server (https://discord.gg/ADc4AN3).

Are there specific cars for Le Mans? I did an AI race with the 2022 layout and everyone of these cars drug their floorpans around the circuit whenever there was the briefest of straights.(even Indy to Arnage) I let the sim pick cars from the LMP1 & other categories. These cars EXCEPT for the Toyota & Ginetta all showered sparks.
Corti had this problem with a Can Am Mclaren he was working on with Nicola, but managed to find the cause and fix the car so it only sparked when it should(like bumps or heavy turns) Here is an example, ALL THE WAY DOWN the Mulsane straight
