The Norma has it's playmate with the Enduracers Ligier JSP3. Both of those are with the old specs and old engine. Unfortunately with the Norma physics being locked, the two cars don't work well with each other. This car is very much needed. The model floating around in other games was just a modified version of the Enduracers model. I do hope that the Duqueine gets made as well. I'm honestly not 100% the differences between the Duqueine and the Norma besides the more powerful engine, but that would provide the everything to complete the IMSA grids and I'm pretty sure the ELMS. I don't know if anybody is running the Ginetta or the Adess.
Awesome. I work on these IRL and it looks almost perfect! One thing though. Most of the second generation P3 cars have a new electronics package with has a different steering wheel and switch panel. It’s not mandatory so it’s down to teams choice because some teams have upgraded current cars rather than buy complete new ones. Could be a cool option to offer in the mod if you have time.
I just came here to say this yeah. Beginning with 2021 season, this car no longer uses cosworth steering wheel. (If you wanna race in ELMS etc i mean) OR You can keep your current cosworth steering wheel 3d model and make the physics in accordance with 2020 specs. But yeah in order to make this car a true 2021 and 2022 contender, cosworth's gotta go.
Well that’s it for this project guys! Thanks for everyone who was so enthusiastic about this project but seems like there’s no more need in this car for rFactor 2 I will try not to cross S397 plans in future just to not upset you guys Have a nice evening and I hope you’ll enjoy the new car!
@Fraggon https://www.studio-397.com/2022/02/...-hbJlBABuMKNUk5jzaWI6DwnAshEOGKkZg1O2bID_7ORU @Nick9320 well unless some other news happens, the Duqueine could still get done. It mentions in the article that it'll join the Norma. But as mentioned, unless they do some updating with the Norma, it is a different rule set. But I know you already have a big plate of WIP projects, so maybe is it a good thing I'll be curious what else they add. Usually these packs have like 3 cars and a track. At least that is how I think it works.
it's like the 3rd or 4th time. the Ferrari GTE, Daytona couple of others I think... Quick! Somebody announce they are starting work on the GT3 Lambo & Acura/Honda & Lexus!
Better allocate resources elsewhere... It's a bummer because we know that ASM could have made a very good LMP3, but S397 can't also afford to leak info to modders to prevent stuff like this happening... I will egotistically say that, if this makes the re-launch of the Mazda DPi come sooner... perhaps it was for the best :-D
Yesterday I had a talk with Nick and we don't want to be screwed on the D08 so we pulled the plug. I had a base model ready (90% done). But might sell it on 3D stores instead. It's not a waste in time, I enjoyed making it somewhere early 2020. From my view I start think different now. They own and worked with some major car/team names. Ligier for example was used before, so as modder I keep my hands of projects now that have this in common. Norma is very similar to D08, so with a bit rework from the S397 3D modelling guys... It's just a matter of weeks. Personally I have no hard feelings but modders put a lot free time and invest (myself in software and tutorials, lessons, buy 3d, PBR textures) While I skip some client projects I can earn a nice income from to just have more modding time. If this means afterwards a few months of lost time I prefer to be very selective or focus on very new cars or older cars. Hopefully they don't screw me with my Fuji. That project is so big I could spend years on this track alone... (has many mini tracks and a karting track as well) I feel for cyruscloud at this moment.
