I choose car/track combo. After that, in race settings i choose:

    1. Practice (1 hour, but does not matter)
    2. Qualify (1 hour, but does not matter)
    3. Race (5 laps, but does not matter)

During the practice and without even going on track (i don't wait until it finishes) i go to session controls and i hit next session. I go to quali. During quali, and again and without even going on track, i also go to session controls and i hit next session (race). I start the race 1st!:confused:

What is going on here? Shouldn't i have started last? Is this a bug? Am i missing smth here?

In session settings there is a session option grid position, check that it's not set to 1.

Don't bother rF2 is broken... you can set to whatever you want the instance you skip QF or escape you are starting P1 regardless.
It has been broken ever since S397 implemented the new UI.

@Haris1977 what boxer says is correct, regarding the grid position setting. If no one sets a time you'll start in 1st.

But if you let the AI all set times (or some of them) you'll start behind any who have a time in qual. So just let them all set times in qual, press Ctrl-X to accelerate time (somewhat).

Oh, and I should also say that normally you could use "Finish Session" to easily make the AI all set times using very simplified 'physics' (estimate of car performance, not actually simulating their driving around the track) - but that's currently broken  :p

It's a known issue, for what it's worth.
