    Hi everyone!

I am curious how everyone plays rF2? Do you prefer online against real (squishy) people, or are you more of a fan of the artificially "intelligent" kind of competition? :)

Thus far, I've only really stuck with my little AI buddies, but am thinking of dipping into the world of online racing. I will say though, the AI in this sim/game, while far from perfect, is pretty fun to race against sometimes.

What are your thoughts (please *try* to keep things civil...)? :D

I never use AI, only online with people, that makes you fight at your level to improve

There are people of all levels, so for me AI is not an option:)

I prefer online, but spend more of my time offline with AI.

99% of my time its this :

    - 89 AI
    - A lot of multiclass (sometimes more than 40 different cars)
    - At my level
    - Always standard setup except driving aids (tc and abs) deactivated
    - Qualification session only
    - Nurburgring Combined
    - Realistic scripted weather (clouds, rain, track temperature, intensity and rain frequency,....)
    - Beautiful day/night cycle (04:00 PM to midnight)

I upgrade my hardware, so in less than 2 month I will have VR Quest 2 + good PC, so probably medium-high graphics with 90 FPS and VR.

    That is an incredible experience.

And with kid + baby + work, I can't (and dont want also) to play online.
Always the combo I want, the opposant number I want, the realistic weather I want, the multiclass I want, the game time I want (and can), the track I want, I can put the game to pause when I want, the game and race settings and conditions I want etc etc etc etc etc........

    I really like offline sim.

Friends ? In real life it is good too ;)

But I perfectly understand that people prefer real people to race against.

    @pilAUTO

It is not to discourage you, but Quets 2 is not a good option according to some friends, it loses much more resolution and gives worse performance than the rift s, according to them the reason is the usb cable and the video compression, it loses quality in the signal

    online
In my opinion AI is terribly stupid, I don't just mean rf2 AI, but from any SIM. I don't enjoy driving offline against AI.

For years I raced online online… now i have no time for online racing ( family and my work won’t allow me to do practice) so I love doing hotlapping once or twice a week.

I race online in two leagues; VEC and FSR.
Both stacked with talented drivers so there is always performance to find.
Then the Competition System in the Formula Pro and the LMP3.

Practicing for these I test with real team mates which is fun.
In between I might run a test race with AI which I find very good.

offline because its difficult to find online races I can join (which have people in it).
    Always need some obscure mod...

dont have time to do regular league races.

Not got as much free time as I'd like at the moment but giving up being a 'wage slave' at the end of the year so that will free up more time. Only been 'racing' for just over a year and not really confident enough to get involved with on-line racing.
So hot laps - well luke warm laps - for me with some AI racing.

    @pilAUTO - I've recently got a Quest2 and I'm not sure it's all it's cracked up to be.
Need some more time to play with it to see if it was a wise purchase or something to pass onto a nephew for "shoot'em ups".

In the New Year I'll be looking to set up a couple of servers to host some racing for the inexperienced on-line racers - something not at all serious using standard or free Steam Workshop content.

(Mostly) offline racer here - simply due to the constraints of time with work and family.

Must say many years ago I took part in a season and a bit of VEC and that was, hands down, the best experience I've ever had in sim racing. One day, I would love to take up league racing again, but I sadly doubt that would be any time soon :)
