One of the biggest flaws of RF2 is the disparity in the quality of content available to the community. There are excellent content and other horrible ones that end up pushing players away from the simulator. To improve this scenario, I suggest that Studio 397 hire content creators to update your workshop content to the new PBR shaders. We could raise a fund to fund these updates. I also leave some teams that could be hired for this work: ASR Workshop: https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198001407794/myworkshopfiles/?appid=365960 ODB Workshop: https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197975795635/myworkshopfiles/?appid=365960 Schumi's workshop https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1508582012 Tchachalowski workshop https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198394400265/myworkshopfiles/?appid=365960 and others. What do you think of the idea?
It's a nice idea however licensing is one issue. The car licence would likely only allow s397 employees to work on the car. Also, software licensing - modders aren't going to have commercial licences for their graphical programs. S397 are also going to want continuity, which makes quickly handing out tasks to lots of people not a good way to get consistent content. But S397 are recruiting which, is kind of the same thing. I'm sure some of the modders here will be applying. Allowing open modding is a perfect way to have a pool of people honing their skill for a very particular software, and for the devs to scout that talent should they need it. It's how Marcel got involved after all.
Great idea. I support this. In my opinion content, which is not being updated, for example the 911 GT3 R, should be removed completely from the store. Making people think its the same quality as, for example, the newest 488 GTE with putting the same price tag in. Thats near to fraud to me personally. I was REALLY angry after buying it. Its not the only example, same with tracks
If I'm not mistaken about the questions, it's here https://forum.studio-397.com/index.php?threads/competition-system-blog-week-22.70484/
Well they already did and confirmed they will NOT update some older content. It was in one of the last blogs
