Just took my first look at the RF2 competition system and was delighted to see my favourite cars in sim racing... The 1970's F1's. But I'm a bit confused as to why every other series listed on the system has a dedicated official competition forum post but absolutely nothing for this series? Can anyone enlighten me?
The Formula Series, GT Series and the BMW M2 Series are official competitions. The rest are just regular CS races.
All series should have their own forum sections & practice servers...RF2 does little to promote competition or community & sadly it will take too long for this to be realized & implemented. For example, I am registered with the Throwback Thursday series & this week we are at a track called Casino. I would love to prepare & practice on this track but I have no idea what track this is. I've searched all my installed tracks from all series , searched the workshop & forums for the track Casino & the best you come up with is a Casino turn in the Circuit d'Azure track or some references to Monaco. Practice servers & forums for events are obviously needed & a wise idea that would benefit all & foster community, promote our sim & increase competition.
When you register for the series it will dowload the series mod. Open the series in single player and select the track - simple.
Go ahead and do that. The track is not there. Thank you for trying to help though, I do appreciate it.
I do do that. If you are registered you should have cs_throwback_1108 as a series. Select that and you will then have all the tracks in the series. Open Monte Carlo 2.1 and select 1966 Monte Carlo.
Indeed. So it's not a direct name match, but you do at least whittle down the possibilities by selecting the event. I did the same myself when I saw Casino...
Thanks again, I know how it works with tracks & series but the track listed in this weeks event is called Casino not Monte Carlo or any of the other tracks listed in the Throwback series. This makes it confusing for most racers to determine that which you thankfully posted, the Monte Carlo 2.1 & 1966 track is the Casino track. I'm thinking it's probably a nickname or a historical name for that track but naming the track Casino for the event does make things ambiguous. I think now that we finally have a Competition menu area within the game that offers a series for every day of the week, it would be a good idea to also have a competition forum area with a sub forum for each active event. 24/7 practice servers for each event that would update tracks along with each series schedule would also be more than welcome as well. We could communicate with each other online in real time, share setups, see what lap times are being laid down, etc.. It could help us all & should build up participation in the competitions & community.
Just in case anyone is in the same time zone as me (+8 GMT) I should be on the throwback server for Q1.3 and the following Q and R sessions. There was no one around last week even though there are 1.5 billion people in this timezone!
There is a server running called Throwback Thursday test. I have it running on an old PC and I dont have the best connection so will be interested to know how it goes for anyone who joins
Just putting it out there again...... I will be on the CS server for Q 1.3 and the following Qual and Race sessions. Five racers last week so hopefully more this week!
