Preview of the huge outer terrain update coming to Lakeside using LIDAR data. More accurate terrain, tree placements and much larger lake area.
Lakeside Park V0.42 Released * Added new Dunlop Bridge . This was the most famous logo on the bridge and drivers used to joke about the racing line. D = Die L= Live. * Added new pit cafe, cooler room and drink machine. * Track is now stand alone as Lakeside International Raceway * Next update will be the gardens around the inner area of the track.
Doing some much needed detailing around the inner area. I will spend a lot of time on this, maybe a full week. Hoping you can see what I have in mind.
More updates and spending a rather large amount of time on the Lakeside Building. Garden is done and now adding much needed detail. The awning, tables and chair and other little details will be done over the next few days. Hope to release another update live in 7 to 10 days or so, which will see the interior of the track basically done. The next task will be the Driver Training area and some of the outer buildings.
So....I actually got some photos of the awning blueprints way back in 2009 and now realize that the Lakeside Room (originally in RF1) was not the correct size, so now I think I will start from scratch and build it as it is now. Not a huge job but it will look better than the first. I may try to get AO shading to try and give it a better look. I still struggle making those textures. **Update** Just added the WIP on the all new Lakeside Room. Plus some old photos of how I first saw it in 2008
Small update. Took way more time than expected, and still sorting out textures. Tried for hours to get a Ambient Occlusion texture to work and gave up. Could export but no way I could get it back on the object Anyway, here are some updates and now sorting out the textures as best I can before releasing it in a week I would guess.
Finally....I understand how to add the AO map to my buildings. This will be a great addition to how the building look.
I bit of an update on the new Lakeside Room building. Lots of trial and error....but looks like I have the AO working now. Shadows look just right around the front cafe area. So, adding the main textures now and will have more update by late tonight I guess. The rails and supports will be done next. So far so good
About 95% done. I will add little details later but the AO and textures are mapped well enough. I will work on the bridge next and then the other buildings. The tower has to be made from scratch again. It is terrible Here are some shots of the Lakeside Room.
So I started working around to all the building models and they are coming up well. I should have everything done by the end of the month including the driver training area update. Here are some progress shots. The Tower will have an interior added and finer details as well.
