I think it’s a generic f1 car based on very modern available design & specs ( as the incredibly great ISI 2012 formula master was at the time ) great news & a firm buy from me! new series & competition with prize monies https://www.studio-397.com/rfactor2...xj-Wi5wwKoRztoL5NRp5RJw0x7_-hvdLZFT2gyrjd9Fp0 full details June 30th Calendar: 19 July: Spa-Francorchamps 2 August: Silverstone 16 August: Nürburgring 30 August: Indianapolis RC 13 September: Zandvoort 27 September: Monza
I like that wheelbase is at least a little shorter than actual current F1 cars, still huge comparing to 90s F1 cars. Insane downforce and insane size of wheels. That thing will grip, supposing it will also have some mega crazy grippy tire compound too. Looking at the image of the car, I have guessed that it maybe could be more low drag oriented than downforce, but 2400Kg of downforce probably denies it. Low profile wheels should also have an interesting effect, personally I am not a fan of them like that, but perhaps they are in the zone of sanity. Interesting. And Monza in September, woohoo.
I’m guessing it’s going to be to current specs or maybe what we know of 2022 specs but I’m just guessing If it’s as good as the 2012 formula masters f1 then we are onto a winner
Yeah, it doesn't sound like a hybrid but it does sound like another fantasy car, which is fine. I'm guessing it's not going to be free but I didn't see any hints one way or another.
I think the images they have shown make it quite clear what kind of car it is... IMO, clearly it is an F1 inspired by the new regulations that will take effect next year.
I agree this is great news for sure. I'm also hopping the collaboration with tire manufacturer also helps them trouble shoot/correct on the tire setup side . At some point I still hope S397 releases a Modern Hybrid F1 car(even without the hybrid part, because that I'm sure requires core changes which means time).
I hope they make an option to hide the halo bar from the driver POV. Those will argue realism but I find it incredibly difficult as tilting my head fails to help LOL.
Agree 100%, the hallow in VR is a non issue as you don't notice it too much. Single screen is extremely distracting unlike VR which I'm sure is a good representation of real life. Also IMO the transparency option is my least preferred option.
It will be quite nice to have a high end Formula series to race in free from the management arrogance and complete lack of goodwill present in FSR.
Does anyone have actual DF figures of current F1 cars? I have found 2650KG at 250 KPH, but that would mean that this car generates as much DF as a 2019 spec F1 car, with 2022 rules? The small floor change already removed up to 10% of DF apparently.
Every reduction has been met with engineering advances that have negated the downforce reductions. Otherwise track records would not still be set almost at every event. So the DF may be close to those numbers without relying solely on the wings.
