    Hi guys,

    I need you help please.
I've changed a texture to a albedo map with Gimp and exported it in .tga.
Then I've used the map converter, to convert them into .dds.
This works all fine, but when I replace the texture with the original one, the track wan't load anymore.
When I try to change the texture in the materialedior, the game freeze.

    What did I wrong?

Did you do that on DevMode? Basically each Mas file of a track has a checksum or a particular identificator. Basically by replacing the texture not in DevMode you changed the checksum of the texture Mas. And rfactor2 doesn't In recognise it at being the good one

In order to edit a track you need to extract everything in the DevMode (keep the same arborescence with the GMT, ANIM and MAPS folders, just do the same arborescence that you found for your track in both location folders)
Then do your modifications and repack your modified track and install it.

Yes, I've used the Dev Mode. And in the Viewer I've the same problem.
I can change every texture with existing ones (LPR, LochDrummond), but when I try it with my created texture I got this problem.

Is your texture size a power of 2?

Could it be the conversion into dds that is faulty?
Can you open your new dds file with another tool?
I also edit tracks in dev mode. I never had problems with dds created from photoshop/gimp. I think there is a Gimp plugin for dds. In my rfactor 1 days gimp+dds plugin worked well for all textures

I can open it with Gimp or Pain.net. Haven't tried it with Blender or 3Dsimed.
I've tried to convert the file with the map converter or save it with Gimp in DDS (BC7 sRGB), both with the same result.

OK. I usually save in dds DTX1 for the texture without alpha map and DTX5 for texture with alpha map.
I don't see where the problem is..... It should work

    1024x768 isn't power of 2.

each side needs to be one of the following 1,2,4,8,16,32,64,128,256,512,1024,2048,4096 pixels long etc.

All the original textures are in power of 2 resolutions.

Okay, saved the texture now with Paint.net in BC1 and BC3, this works.
Then I've tried also BC7 and this works also.
But no chance with the map converter...

If you have created the textures with Gimp, why don't you export directly to dds?

I use an other program to create the nm or aos map and with this I can't save to .dds.
    But I'm still learning. ;)
