Hello sim racers! After a small hiatus - the Competition System blog is back with a bang! Please note important information about the coming week of activity in the opening introduction: https://www.studio-397.com/2021/05/competition-system-blog-week-15/ Happy racing everyone!
I’ve been trying to race the CS for two weeks now and there’s nothing, trust me to pick the best time to start racing online... looking forward to next week
In the cars we were able to modify the skins, in the future will we be able to change the circuit boards/banners/billboards of the tracks?
It would be nice if you put another showroom to see the car to take good photos without background and varied. The hangar we have now is pretty but one side of the car is still black. Will we see more rooms in the future?
For me, the problem isn't the hangar. The problem is that the support for transparencies in the screenshots, disappeared when rF2 began to use the screenshots system of Steam. A lot of people is complaining about the missing icons in the new UI, but with the current system is a lot more difficult to create quality icons without a transparent background.
I think the repair time could be put in a limit of 40 seconds Maximum. yesterday in my limerock race I was 170 seconds. too much.
The "funny" Thing is, that to get proper PNG Files with full Transparency still works in the DevMode. So i have to ask why it doesn't work in the main Game. Maybe due to the new UIs html based Code? But it also didn't work before the new UI already. @Paul Jeffrey Can you maybe answer that? PS Sorry for being totally off Topic.
About the new competition in may, Stockar & USF2000, their new format are good but I'm sad that S397 team did'nt make any advertisement about it. Just a small announce lost in discord. I mean, if you want more drivers to use your CS, you have to tell to the userbase what are these new competitions when beginning (or a litlle bit prior their beginning).
as far as I know, repair time is generated based upon the damage you have received. So a minor fender scrape requres a very short repair time, a major suspension repair requires....lots more time. Multiple damaged areas also build up the time needed. So just saying 40 seconds is enough would seem to encourage banzai driving cuz the price of a major repair would not be too painful.
Trust me 40 seconds max. you're in the fight limerock, accident through no fault of mine 170 seconds, 4 laps lost. Yesterday it happened to a certain Paul Jeffrey.
40 seconds isn't max. It's not even close to max. The only thing you could do is perhaps that the remaining race time is the max and everthing above is an instand DNF
170 seconds are less than 3 minutes. Depending on the damages and the type of car this time could be short. Every damage in the car has asigned a repairing time.
You are supposed to not crash the car, if you crash the car, you retire, if you don't retire and you car is messed up, in the real world you are black flagged. 40 seconds or any forced up repair time are an arcadish solution that should not pertain a simulator. Enjoy the fact that damage multiplier is usually not set at 100% and realize that even a minor impact is usually enough to brick a single seater.
