I found that if I assign one favorite server the "Loading Favorite Servers" only takes a blink ;-)

just one....thats all. Some folks complain about the time, but then refuse to assign one because they are offline racers only... I tell them this is a solution and only users who are stubborn are not benefiting. We probably should bring this up once a month or so to drill it into people's heads. Good post!

This should be handled by developers and not by users troubling with workarounds.
I cannot think of any technical reason why is that left like that.

Yes, but meanwhile, as @davehenrie says, we can wait to an update of the UI or assign a favorite server.
The workaround is a good temporary "solution".

To many users it doesn't even occur that workaround exists. Because usually real gaming comes after UI but in case of rf2 it seems one needs to google for UI walkthroughs and tips and tricks.
Such tips and tricks and mandatory reads should be stickied and link to these stickies should be inside a UI in red and bold.
Only then if someone comes to these forums and asks for help he can be considered stubborn.

I've never known a software that informs the users about workarounds to avoid bugs.
Usually the developer solves (or try to solve) the bugs.
And if someone want's to use a workaround, will have to look for it.
A Workaround is a non official way to avoid a bug, not a solution.

Over 3 months since the first UI beta release (I don't really want to know if this was present previously) this hasn't changed. Here we have a fresh thread with someone only just discovering the workaround.

We shouldn't get to this point. I don't see anything to be gained by arguing about the details - we shouldn't be here. At very worst this message should be confined to the multiplayer part of the UI and not interfere with progression to another part; ideally there should have already been a redesign.
