Dont know what has caused this problem, Im using the release candidate, but when trying to load a custom livery I get this error message. Tried it with a couple of liveries which previously worked. Tried rolling back to both current release and old ui, same problem.
Can click ok, refresh then load the car, but when driving and going back to the garage, the same error pops up.

I have created the skin directory as it says, dropped the dds file in there, refreshed, selected the alt, and this is the result. Tried resaving the dds file too.

could the rcd file be wrong after the GT3 have been updated with BOP yesterday?
Maybe it referees to a veh file that have been replaced in that vehicle?

Im not sure what you mean to be honest, does that mean uninstalling GT3 and reinstalling might fix it? I'll give it a go

Well, that didnt work. Made another problem as it corrupts the player.json file as it cant find the cars that were last used, and crashes the game before it even starts.
Luckily ive experienced that before and know how to fix it.
This game can be a right PITA

Same happens to my GT3 skins....if you close the error window and go back using arrow in the top left then go back in your skin will show.
Don't know what the fix is yet but will look into it today.

Yes, managed to get into my server with it, it shows the skin to me at first (not sure about others) then when you go on track and then back to the garage, you get the same error message.
You get rid of that, but your car is showing all white then.

In your screenshot in left side, try to create a "new team car" and place your skin in that folder it creates. Then you know it uses correct veh file in the rcd file.

It wont actually let me create a driver until i select an alt from the drop down....at which point it comes up with the error again, even when selecting the standard alt car that was created.

Well, i kept refreshing, ignoring the messages etc, it seemed to create the car.
Went into the server, saw my livery, no errors.
Advanced to race and got booted from the server.

I have a skin for each of the GT3's and the ones I used yesterday in single player don't give me the error now.
I've just tried those cars online on my server and they all worked no problem.
I had selected create driver and picked my DDS from the drop down on all the skins I've tried, maybe that is the fix?

Are you just putting your DDS file in the created skin folder?
Maybe im missing something obvious. I tried starting again, by removing the bmwfolder from the settings folder, and creating fresh.

Yes but in a mas file with windows / driver & helmet.
I didn't enter anything in the create driver fields either just selected my skin DDS in the drop down. Closed the error went back and then went back in...no error
The error only appears the first time I use the skin

Ok, cheers for that. Bit beyond my knowledge created mas files.
Was hoping for a quick fix as its our final league race in these cars this weekend and would have been nice to use all the liveries.
There may be a few of us with the same problem, even if I sort mine, I probably wouldnt be able to explain to everyone else, so its back to S397 i guess.

I just tried a loose single DDS in a new car folder and named the DDS differently and it gave the error. I then close the error window and go back using arrow in the top left then go back in your skin will show. After seeing your car loaded in the hanger make sure you selected it when you back out of that screen.
    It worked online too.

The mas thing is easy to do....open the mas tool click on add files to a mas and select your skin DDS's then save as it using the same name as your skin DDS.

Thanks, i created the mas file and tried that way too.
Everything goes fine until the point I leave the track and go back to the garage. Then I get the moto error and a white livery

Is this just on your server? If yes try removing the skin from the server.
Does this happen in single player also?

Yes, on my server. I deleted the skins from the same folder on the server (Settings) folder...is there anything else to delete there?
It seems ok in single player, although i still get the initial error, but refreshing the livery shows it again, then it works. Leaving track at race start, I do not get the error.

I tried the same process with another non gt3 livery and that works fine

On the server it should be just settings / car folder.
The screen before where you see your skin make sure to click select after you see the skin in the hanger.

What's the purpose of the rcd file again?

Only purpose I know of is people say to delete them if RF2 is acting slow to load a track or session. And for some that helps.

Now it seems, if custom skins aren't loading correctly, you should delete them, even from dedi server installations.
