I think I love you. Many great fixes that should never have been needed. Your work is greatly appreciated. The only thing I don't like is that it took me until now to find out about this. I have a couple of thing that I think would be useful If you get time or interest in them. - You will be the greatest person who ever lived if you are able to add a scroll to the favorites list on the main multiplayer tab, 5 isn't enough. - Have the full server list save the sorting preference (ie. ping or name) when you go into it instead of always being player count. - Have the lap/time adjuster in multiplayer admin options accept a text input, it is a pain setting a 10min race when the default is 50.
I don't know if the car and track thumbnails can be mapped to car and track selection but it would be great and very intuitive.
Ok, I don't know what others think of this, but here are some thoughts about the UI main structure. The Top Banner: I can't see the point of having the 'Race', 'Watch' and 'Community' shortcut buttons - I don't think they aid navigation and just confuse the user. Along the top I'd have: Top Left: rFactor 2 logo Top Right: Name (link to player details), Settings, Messages, Exit Main Tabs: Single Player Multiplayer Competition Watch News Community Content Bottom: No need for an Exit button if you have got an Exit button along the top accessible from anywhere form the main UI New Setting: I'd also have some options in the settings that would hide the 'News' and 'Community' tabs as they appear to cause users with slow internet connections issues with actually using the UI. Anyway, look this is just my two cents, don't know how much is actually feasible - or even wanted by other people. I know everyone has their own personal opinions, and I'm not a UX designer - so what do I know! Keep up the good work - everyone appreciates what you are doing.
v2.4.1 is not remembering server filters, it was already implemented in the first versions... Keep that great work
Hello, I wanted to make a suggestion. When I enter the servers section it loads them, then I select favorites and reload. I enter a server and when I finish and leave, it returns to the internet servers, it reloads, I have to select favorites again and it reloads. Could it not be possible to memorize the selection that I have made as favorites and that when I return it does not switch to the internet? I hope you understand me with the google translate Thanks and regards!!
Can you please make also a dark screen? The white background on startup, in the menu, settings and leaving the track are terrible...
Hi guys, here is a new release of the Better-UI. In this version I added an uninstaller, so if you would like to remove my changes, you just need to run the uninstaller script. This requires steamcmd to be installer, so the installer will download and install that on your machine in rFactor2 directory. The biggest new feature is the new garage view: I tried to make the useful viewport as big as possible so I moved the race button to the header and made paddings and margins smaller. With these modification I was able to remove the scrollbars on most of the pages. Another new feature is to display unlimited number of favorite servers on race screen (it was limited to 5). Removed a popup displaying loading favorite servers, but for some reason while that process is running the UI is frozen, so you won't see the popup, but you won't be able to interact with the UI. (Let me know if you want the popup back) I also worked on bugfixes so remember password and current track highlight feature now should be ok. Is there a way to hard code just one favorite server? The search for a server is shortened dramatically if the user has a favorite server selected. Having one pre-selected removes the big wait when an entire server list is sorted.
Works perfect for me here, but I can´t go into the WorkShop from rF2. It tells me to activate a Steam option that is activated for sure. Not sure what could be wrong. Same happened with the original rF2 update.
Can you please tell me more about the problem? Was the install successful? Can you see Better-UI on the bottom right corner when you start the game?
I am not sure how possible it is, but a way to be able to select what changes we want installed might be a good idea. Personally i am not too bothered by the "Loading favourite servers" message.
The installation was trouble-free, with automatic uninstallation of older versions. And the square does not appear in game. As if there was nothing installed. I restarted twice, closed and reopened Win 10 without any other results.
