Hey, I have tried looking around, but I cannot find anything on how to create a HUD for VR. Can anyone point me in the right direction please?
Maybe because a special "VR Hud" doesn't exist, at least as far as i know. If you want to have a modified Hud, just create one or edit an existing one in DevMode.
Would agree with redapg. The existing VR huds are normal huds, optimized for VR (placement of the gauges etc.)
Here is how. Sucks that no one has answered. I have used this, and it works. It has a slight performance hit. (To say why this is needed, the regular HUD is not very good for VR; the distance is all off, you can't turn off the top part, it is not customizable, and it doesn't offer much information in the first place) You need to get 2 things. Simhub to create a custom HUD in a window, using the game's data OVR Toolkit (through steam) to display your chosen window into VR. First, you make a HUD using the dash studio part of simhub. The program should pick up RF2 automatically, but it may need something configured on the games screen of simhub first. Try opening other dashes, or make one. Start the dash, and it will be in a window. Normally, you put that window over the game window and make it see-through. OVR Toolkit lets you put windows from your desktop into VR in front of you. You cannot make the windows see-through in the same way in VR, so you have to keep your HUD in one bunch rather than all over the screen. You can then make the bunch transparent in OVR Toolkit. (It has black background. I made mine a smallish square the goes right above the steering wheel and is transparent. It can have rotating map, car radar, etc.) ORV toolkit is a clunky program, so I can't explain how to use it, but you select your window each time.
