Things might not show that they are incorrect in max, and you'll see that they are backwards when the get exported.
Hi there. How to manage material plugin to work? I've put all plugins to plugin folder. gMotor tool plugin works. But when I press button for material/map browser 3dsmax fails. My material editor is in compact mode. Render is scanline.
What version of max are you using? And when you say it fails, do you mean it crashes, or an error pops up?
First error pops up and then crases. I checked 2012 version and 2017. Behavior is the same. So I think I do something wrong.
Ok. I have no idea why it doesn't work, make sure you're only using the 2012 ones, and not mixing the newer ones in.
Well. In plugin folder I found readme file with this comment: The first time the Material Editor is launched and a gMaterial is selected, you will be prompted for the location of the ShaderGFX.mas file. Use ModDev\Shared or Core\Shared as you locations. The gMaterial editor has a button at the bottom to reset this location. After restarting Max, you will be prompted for a new location. I did not select this path, and possibly it is the reason. But I can not get this popup window any more. I tried to delete plugin but without result. How to reset this path so I can set new location? Is there config which I can delete to trigger prompt window opening?
No, I think it only does it when you pick a gmotor material, but I doubt that is your issue, because it just loads a list of available shaders.
It is possble. I found key in windows registers. But changing path did not help. Plugin does not work on may system
Hello I have the same problem with my 3ds max 2017, I did a clean installation of the system and now when I want to open the shadows, 3ds max closes automatically I don't know if the developers changed the plugin or did something and it was wrong. I just know that only the material and possibly texture plugin fails. since converter works without problems
Lazza internally told me the same thing. I just tested the plugins of the 2017 version that come in the 1120 and it worked perfectly. so I will do some tests now to know from which version they stopped working
So you have a Version that works? I also mean that i have read that S397 will no longer develop the Max 2017 Plugins, because Max 2017 is no longer available officially.
I just did another test plugins coming from 1121 and work fine, plugin just crashes, or it comes faulty in 1122
In short, for those who have 3dsmax 2017 and have similar problems, please delete plugins folder that comes in rfactor 2, then in Steam change to beta 1121 will download other plugins, use them and then go back to 1122 version or later version
Correction to what was said before, better use the plugins that come in version 1120 since those of 1121 cannot export the file (crash 3ds)
