Update time for a number of tracks within rFactor 2. Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps Nürburgring Nordschleife Portland International Raceway Hong Kong E-Prix Botniaring More details and change notes can be found by clicking HERE. Many thanks
Portland Pit space 01 on the pit is badly arranged. Every time an e Ki comes from the paddock it drives into my parked car ?? I'm standing exactly in the red frame. Every Ki drives you in the rear as soon as it comes from the paddock. Please modify!
Hi, No it doesn't have any PBR updates, the build is just for the hotfix cut deterrent and collision mesh update. Cheers
Excellent improvement guys. Thank you for all your hard work. Have a great new year. Can't wait to see what happens in 2021!
I wasn't subscribed to Portland prior to the update. After subscribing and changing nothing else, the launcher crashes on startup and the old mod manager crashes when directing to the rF2 folder. Unsubscribed from Portland and it works fine again. The only way I could install Portland 1.04 was to subscribe to get the rfcmp, move it from the download cache, unsubscribe and put the rfcmp into the packages and install manually. Something is clearly broken.
Spa is looking great but still a smash up derby with the GT3s but to be honest, I don’t think they can be fixed with AIW tweaks. Nordschleife looks incredible. Memory leak appears to have been fixed which is great but the track is still heavy on GPU at dusk and night compared to the pre PBR version. Bad enough on my system that this will be a daytime only track sadly.
Good morning, Thanks for the post - are you still having this issue? I've spoken to the devs, and they ask if you are using the public-beta version of rFactor 2? If not, please can you try with that version and see if it works? If the crash is still happening, please try with trace logging enabled (+trace=2 +traceFlush), that will help us to establish at what point it crashes and that it was really trying to install Portland at that point. Many thanks.
I would hope that future track upgrades would reach the level of lemans 2020 and portland tracks in wet road reflections, for example on spa and nordshleife tracks, there will be no reflection of trees so there will be no illusion of a wet road surface. where are these quality differences between different tracks? i would like lemans 2020 track to be the quality standard for future dlc tracks and track upgrades. despite these factors rf2 is the best simulator
The current system does not allow such reflections on tracks with elevations. We are replacing the system soon.
Thanks S397 for the updates. Nords has never been this spectacular, although it takes forever to load.
On Portland, BMW M2 CS (ClubSport spec) AI is still dead slow through any of the curves at 100 or 105% AI. They are OK in straights. Not sure if this is an issue with AI of that car specifically, the track, or both.
Although slowly, I see rFactor2 going in the right direction. The sim will revive once all base content is updated to latest standards. Therefore I'm really looking forward to the updated versions of: Sao Paulo, Zandvoort, Lime Rock, Portugal, NOLA and Atlanta...BTW, why not also Bathurst, Malaysia, Montreal and the classic tracks like Brianza, Monte Carlo and Belgium? It would a great combo together with modern versions. Point is that right now only a small portion of the content is playable, at the end we cannot go back to almost 10 years old content and be satisfied while rocking expensive rigs and VR.
