Last week (and many many weeks before) I was able to host a rF2 server (Steam Launcher/Host) from my LAN to both LAN (myself, same computer) and WAN (others). Today suddenly I can no longer join my own server from LAN running in the same computer - it's not listed. I can join via WAN, but then nobody else from WAN sees me (I see everyone). What could have happened? In between I only had couple of single player sessions with VR (MP sessions I drive without VR). Nothing else. Set Video Settings back to VR Disabled. Can VR have an effect here? Did it mess my Multiplayer.JSON? I have the following ports open both router and windows: 54297 TCP/UDP 27013 TCP 27014 UDP 27015 UDP In my UserData/player/Multiplayer.JSON I have: "HTTP Server Port":27013, "Simulation Port":54297, Any ideas?
We could say that both options are true. Could there be official support but mainly will only there be community support. We have to say that the support of the community is very good. It would be interesting if you could check what Hazi has told you.
Since dawn last month, I can no longer join from the LAN side on my server as well. I also tried changing the description of the JSON file, but it does not improve. I tried it on 4 PCs, but all of them have the same symptoms. However, from the WAN side, everyone can join.
WAN works here too - for everybody else but me. I too can connect via WAN, but then I'm invisible to everybody else. Bottom line, I cannot participate an event I'm hosting myself. All I can basically do is watch others drive...
Maybe ports changed for LAN discovery - cannot get it to work - don`t want to revert back to test - or maybe they disabled something? - need help before XMas ...
Create a Shortcut to your Rfactor2.exe and on the shortcut TAB you will see a target line. in this line edit it to read, "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\rFactor 2\Launcher\Launch rFactor.exe" +connect DEDI IP ADDRESS +password XXXXX Be sure to add the spaces between rFactor.exe" +connect IP +password So you can connect to your own Server on LAN
Thank you, but no luck so far. 1. Started Launcher from Steam 2. Started Server from Launcher 3. Closed Launcher (so I can reopen from shortcut with args) 4. Started Launcher from shortcut with +connect 127.0.0.1 +password serverpwdhere I get to the "attempting direct connect" screen but the race button on right side never enables. I see no servers and the refresh button in GUI is not listing any servers either. I even disabled Windows Firewall altogether. And also allowed all TCP/UDP ports (remote and local) with FW on. It just does not work.
I solve it like this : https://forum.sector3studios.com/in...if-you-cannot-join-your-own-dedi-server.4672/
have you use the Loopback Address (127.0.0.1) or the Local IP? Try with the Local IP instead of the Loopback, Is there anything different?
Yes, tried all sorts of possibilities, loopback, localhost, 192.168... Need to take a look at juanchioooo's link next - although no hardware has changed since less than 2 weeks ago.
