Do any owners with the Samsung ultra wide 49 inch monitors have guidance on how to get the best view from these fantastic screens? Is it possible to get the true 32:9 aspect ratio without stretched edges? Thanks a lot in advance!
I use the CRG9 and i have to be honest, looks fine for me at 5120x1440 - i dont perceive a stretch at all.
You could try running in windowed mode and enable multiview (I think that's how it's done... I'm sure someone mentioned this recently, had to modify the resolution slightly to remove a blank line because 5120/3 isn't a whole number), that should reduce that feeling of stretch. Remember games are rendered onto a flat plane, so these large curved screens will warp it to some extent - like if you had a flat screen and then sat closer to one end of it, that end will looked stretched, the far end will look compressed. Multiview will let you divide the distortion into 3 smaller 'screens' and make it less noticeable, but windowed mode and poorer performance are the trade off.
Here's the thread I was thinking of: https://forum.studio-397.com/index.php?threads/ultrawide-perspective-tripples.66694/
