After creating the normal map for the tarmac and kerbs using Substance Designer, I exported them using the PBR to gMotor utility to tga and then used MapConverter to convert to dds. When I load the viewer (same for moddev) the normal map is simply a black texture. Trying to load the texture again the same problem happens. Today I had done a normal map for some astro and had no problem with it loading but the tarmac and kerb ones never load. Any tips on what to do?
Have you checked the exported normal maps (TGA's) in Photoshop etc. ? Are they black? If maps look ok in PS, does the file names of "black" normal maps follow the rules? If naming is not right, MapConverter fails to convert (or ignores) them. If TGA's are black, then something is probably wrong in Designer graph. If maps are ok (both tga and dds), then something is probably wrong in the material itself. Check material settings in the Material Editor.
Seems to work now. Deleting the material json file seems to have fixed it so probably had something wrong in that file. Thanks Jka
