I would love some manual vintage cars in rF2, would buy them in a hartbeat without waiting for a sale.
But I'm still waiting for the updated drivetrain model, which has been talked about for over 3 years now by Marcel.
He almost single-handedly wrote the gearbox implementation for AMS1 if I recall correctly, so it must not be so hard to implement it in rF2? Don't know how much the codebase changed in the update to isiMotor 2.5 however...

I would love something like the old 'Grinding Tranny' plugin that was available for rF1. If you change gear without using the clutch and do not match the revs closely enough you will hear the gearbox grinding, and you will remain in neutral until you re-shift using the clutch. If you use the clutch properly then your shifts will always be successful.
But enough on that, this topic is about content...

My heart goes out to 60s F1 and Le Mans GT/Prototypes, Group C, 90s DTM, ...
Maybe we should think about a crowdfunding/Kickstarter model: it would allow to pre-finance the development of content, and would make sure only popular content gets developed (if S397 can acquire the license of course)

Yes more manual cars. Official paid content so that quality is maintained.
especially old DTM cars like Alfa 155, Mercedes 190E , bmw

    Hi,
just look how many brands are involved in TCR in so many countries and the racing is so close.
As other’s already wrote RF2 is lacking in a real good fwd race car.

We lack FWD and AWD with very good physics :

    - Real data
    - Real license
    - Connections with brands or team
    - Modern car physics (tire model ......).

We have about 43 official S397 cars, only RWDs !!!

I think it would be balanced to have a pack of 3 or 5 FWD cars (also perfect to fill grids), the same for AWDs.

As a RWD fan I don´t know much about FWD, what physics aspects do you consider are not ok in todays cars/mods?

...because FWD cars are good for three things... driving schools, driving to your unremarkable 9-5 job and driving to the local shopping mall ;)

As far as I am concerned, without answering your question precisely, what I want is that all the cars I use in rF2 use real data, are under license, linked to the brand or to the teams and with all the latest physics technologies (tire model....).

Whether it is S397 cars is a plus, because the physics of their cars are excellent.

This is valid for all types of cars.

Godwind's not very smart message is quite dismissive to people who love countless FWD racing cars.

Most unrealistic one for me is how i can steeer more while i'm already understeering by GIVING power in FWD car !
there no understeer in current fwd cars you can basically keep adding steering lock and giving power and it turns more...
they need realistic fwd physics period,i don't know how to put it in proper technical words but yeah thats my explanation and it is REAL.
All you need to do is watch onboard and you can instantly tell that RF2 fwd have physics of other universe.

It is unremarkable because it is most probably a street car...made to be driven by total amateurs.
A good engineered FWD car will blow any haters mind.
Americans ruin honda civic image but you know damn well that those early honda civic type R for example EK9 are beast and it is a FWD car.
If you watch youtube channel named best motoring you can see how some FWD cars can keep up and even beat famous FR layout cars.

You read my mind, I watch BM and am a fan of the EK9 besides the ITR (which I almost forgot to mention) - just not a fan of the newer cars

As I said I am almost clueless about FWD racing, but the argentinian STC2000 mod I think handles the understeer thing superbly. You try to push the throttle without getting things handled around the corner and there you go straight, no turning at all. So it may be a mod issue more than a rF2 physics one.

    Edit: Typo.

That is very good to hear, but i really want official content rather than a mod.
