    Hi Guys,

I'm trying to lay down a new fast path on AIW creation in Dev Mode, but every time I do so the lap doesn't record? I hit 'Save Waypoints', exit the track, reload, and it's just the old one that shows. No matter what I've tried my new line never seems to overwrite the old one.
Do any of you know what to do?
I read a glancing comment that there is a new way to do it via replays? Anybody know anything about that?
"Not forgetting the new way to do Fast Paths is to record all your laps and pick one of the best from the replay (dev mode only), not exactly sure how it works (not done it myself yet) so hopefully someone can be of more help with that"

I cannot solve your problem since I haven´t watched this one yet, but I´m learning from Mark´s videos, maybe they can help you as well.

Yes, these are the videos I've been following, I've even messaged Mark himself to ask for help. I've followed his videos down to the mouse click, I genuinely don't know why it isn't working?

Been a long time but from memory your new fast path has to be faster than the old one.

But what if you're using a different / slower car?
I read that you can create a custom line for a specific car type.
    I might try that instead.

Type of car shouldn't make any difference. It's been many years since I was doing .aiw's but I used to just delete the old "fast path" time from the .aiw and then it would record the new one.

That sounds good, do you know how to delete the fast path line only?
I know it's been a while so don't worry if not, I'll have a fish around.

On the fast path thing that pops up, you can press reset, and it sets the time to 9999 or something so you'll most likely be faster than it.

In the top section of the .aiw, find this:
    definepath=FASTEST
pathtime=81.5490 (your time will be different)
Can't remember if I used to just delete the time or put a different value in. You may have to play around.

Great, yes I've found that line in the file and that seems to have worked. I'll have a play around with it tomorrow and report back the results. If changing the value doesn't work, if I delete the FASTEST line totally I just need to create a new line and call it FASTEST don't I?

From memory I think I may have just made the old time slower. Deleting it totally should work too.

Great, I'll give your method a try tomorrow noname. Thanks for your help.
Raintyre - I haven't been able to find an option to "reset FASTEST time" anywhere in the AIW menu in-game. Unless it only appears once you've 'crossed the start line'? I didn't drive any laps as couldn't be bothered to hook up my wheel, but had a play around in the menu's just now and couldn't find any action that said Reset Fastest Time.

Wait, I just checked Marks video and my assumption was correct, that option does appear once you've crossed the line to start a new recording. Thanks for the tips!

Hey Mark, I am trying to learn from your videos to start messing around with the AIs. I have one question. From your experience, is it better to do the laps with a particular car for the tintops and another for the openwheelers or it doesn´t matter?

    Cheers.
